Ye, that's Umit Karan. He's a forward and 32 years old. This stuff is rather old news though (November 22). These news articles just suggest some people from a club in Dubai came over to the match away at Ankaraspor to watch him play (unfortunately for them, there was loads of wind that game and neither side got the chance to play proper football; it's no surprise that it ended 0-0). He was brilliant for years but injuries got to him and he hasn't played much since last year... except the UEFA Cup game we had against Benfica where we won 2-0 last month or so, he was brilliant in that match, oh and the last gasp goal against Fener... hmm come to think of it he did play quite a bit lately in the important matches and shined... His shots are great and he can easily put a ball into the back of the net if he gets the chances. He gives it all he's got every match. Though, he ain't a really fast runner nor is he tall to get up to headers (but his header shots are good). Oh and on a final note he looooves bicycle kicks! He played in Genclerbirligi before moving to Galatasaray. I don't know where he played before that. He did make the national team before but hasn't played much. There have been speculations going about us getting Mehmet Yildiz and that Umit Karan was gonna be sold to another club. I won't believe them till the deals are actually done though. We'll see what happens in the January transfer window. Just type Umit Karan on youtube and you'll find loads of clips of him. Hope that helped.
