Is he not getting paid currently? (Of course the level of that pay and the other details, such as duration, of his contract are likely up for discussion or investigation or concern.) He's got two years remaining on his current contract, reportedly. No idea if those are league-held option years or what. And he certainly does or could have a fairly strong case for having his current MLS contract renegotiated.
Obviously I am being tongue in cheek here, but the guy is nearly unstoppable and he is the key to their attack. 20+ goals and an MLS Cup berth? Plus he seems to be the MLS player who most seems to be living life on the field. Yeah, I'd try to keep him happy.
Yes, absolutely Kamara is a (very) key piece of what Columbus has done in recent (and will do in future) seasons. And Kamara has been able to find a contract and playing time and some success and joy outside of MLS as well, across the course of his career. But he certainly does seem to enjoy this league and has sought out opportunities twice within in his career to date. And yes MLS has to manage the difficult and ongoing task of conducting and tweaking their business and keeping their employees happy. A somewhat relevant news item: Impact owner Joey Saputo says he always expected that "as a professional" Didier Drogba would honor his contract with Montreal. #IMFC— Doug McIntyre (@ByDougMcIntyre) January 25, 2016 Not, that it is all that tough for a very, very well-paid DP to honor their contract.
FWIW, Kamara's guaranteed money is 536k. That's a bit less than Wondo and BWP but they've had more than just one good year. http://www.massivereport.com/2015/7/17/8992329/mls-player-salaries-released-by-players-union
If they are, then he could pull a Camilo, get paid seven figures in Mexico and nobody could stop him. Unless/until MLS wants to go to the mat with FIFA about the legality of their own concoction of "league-held" option years, this will continue to be an issue.
No LMX team would do that, though, for a guy who's 31 and has only had one high-production year (well, and a half: his stats per minute his last year in SKC were good), and considering in that calculation that Queretaro still wound up paying a fee in that settlement.

Club (or in this case league) held options are perfectly legal. They are laid out in CBA and the CBA trumps anything FIFA would say (and they even say that a CBA over-rules the statutes for transfers and contracts). Camilo was let go because Queretaro paid a transfer fee that was acceptable to MLS/Vancouver. I'm certain that if they didn't and MLS pressed them they would have lost, hence why they actually never signed him until they bought him. But seeing as he actually didn't just leave for free it is silly to insinuate that nobody could stop him since exactly zero players have ever skipped out on their league held option and left for free. If it was so easy you would think that someone would have managed to do it by now.

There are two types of stadiums in MLS. Stadiums with immaculate turf that they replace every year that could be a putting green at Pebble Beach. And stadiums that aren't in Los Angeles.
I believe their jersey sponsor is TransAmerica. Now every team has a jersey sponsor to open the season. I believe for the first time ever in league history.
Hey now..... I'm sorta insulted..... The Revs have the Razor, and the Razor has some pretty immaculate Mini-Golf putt-putt turf.....
