That Portsmouth versus Southhampton rivalry has some teeth to it! Watch that video and it is a terrific eye opener on how the sport is lived at the very South of Britian. "Southern Softies" they are not! Ha! This is funny! In other Millennial news on coffee being made, I had a co-worker ask me how to make a pot of coffee? She is a terrific co-worker, bright, knows her job very well. IT side this is in the Oil and Gas industry down here in Houston. She has to be round 25 to 26ish. I thought it was "play a joke on someone in the office" day. Nope. She literally had never made a pot of coffee with a filter and some ground up coffee beans and hot water in her entire life.
This, though admittedly I haven't touched an office coffee maker in years, a more modern one might throw me for a bit.
I had trouble with one of those newfangled k cup things. Should be easy, right? Well, there's a big coffee cup button and a small coffee cup button. How big does my coffee cup need to be to accommodate the "big cup" button? I don't know, but mine clearly wasn't big enough.
If a man or woman works or has worked in transportation, oil and gas industry, the military, law enforcement and inner city public school system. Coffee is consumed at a geometric rate each day. Not knowing how to make a pot, it's just difficult to imagine. If a co-worker asks how to change a tire. Sure. Some still might know how. This is why again, I thought it was pull a prank day at the office that day. This just last Spring. Correct! "See here Kimberley, after putting the beans in the filter, this is where you want to add the salt and then you are done. The machine will run the hot water." Entire floor shas a chain reaction to salted coffee! WTF!!! Who f'n made this?!? Ha!
Ditto. I grew up on tea, instead, but I know how to make a pot for office purposes. My embarrassing question came when I asked my then father-in-law how to empty a sink's garbage disposal. I'd never had one before and with all the crap he shoved down there I assumed some sort of filter kept the chunks from going into the pipes. Was probably about 26 at the time. My ex, however, once took out a packet of hot cocoa and lamented there were no instructions on it.
I think I was 26 (and only out of school then for the first time) when I first bought a coffee maker and made my first pot.
