I wonder what Arango did to violate the MLS anti-harassment policy and when it happened? 4 games is a pretty hefty penalty.
Not that it changes much but my guess is that its a 3 game suspension but MLS realized the bad optics of having a player currently on suspension play in the All-Star Game so they made it a 4-game suspension and included the ASG.
I am sure @JasonMa wishes they had also waited until after the Rocky Mountain Cup rubber match this weekend, too.
lots of big games in the west this week (Wednesday and Saturday). Shame to not have all the best players on hand.
I think @JasonMa has this one... it's a three match suspension, with an exhibition match falling in the middle on the calendar that's getting wrapped up in it. I haven't been able to find what the anti-harassment policy actually is. I don't see it posted anywhere. Is it the old anti-discrimination policy with a new name? Are there two separate policies?
Lionel Messi will be out indefinitely with a ligament injury in his right ankle, Inter Miami announced Tuesday.Messi appeared to slip on the pitch at Hard Rock Stadium and went down without any contact during the Copa América final.Details:https://t.co/OYeiqz1FbE— The Athletic Soccer (@TheAthleticSCCR) July 17, 2024 Thx, Jay!
His ankle also took a late challenge in the first half on the endline. Player landed on it and his ankle rolled. That had more to do with his injury then "slipping" on the turf.
He sprained his ankle in the 36th minute, but let his ego take over and played on it for another half hour before being subbed out. He should have known better. You can’t help your team win when you’re injured. And he probably added weeks to his recovery by continuing to play. Personally, I couldn’t care less. Messi is a player on an opposing team and, therefore, the enemy. Actually, I’ll sleep a bit better knowing this is making Don Garber miserable.
Indefinitely. In other words, we don't want to tell you which matches we already know he'll miss, we want you to keep hope alive and keep buying tickets.
I may have missed it, but are these legit 3rd jerseys that they're going to wear during games or more of a fashion line?
MLS Archive Collection: Every third jersey for the 2024 season https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/mls-archive-collection-every-third-jersey-for-the-2024-season Major League Soccer and adidas have unveiled the adidas x MLS Archive Collection, which includes third jerseys worn by five clubs throughout the remainder of the 2024 season.
LA is wearing theirs tonight reportedly. Appropriate as for many years LA-Colorado was the most played competitive match involving MLS teams (largely because LA and Colorado are the only two teams to have played every season in the Western Conference combined with USOC matchups out west being slim).
