The Triangle Soccer Fanatics, an independent supporters club of the Carolina RailHawks, is calling on NASL to revoke Traffic Sports USA's franchise rights and ensure that our local club is completely independent of our current ownership group, who has been implicated in the FIFA investigation.

We would appreciate any NASL fans that care about the growth of soccer in the Raleigh-Durham area or the restoration of integrity to the Beatiful Game around the world join us in signing our petition.

You can read our open letter to Bill Peterson and sign the petition at http://trisoccerfan.com/openletter

We appreciate your support and help in spreading the word about our petition.

Does the NASL have the power to actually forcefully revoke ownership? Even if they do, their hands might currently be tied from the investigation.

Without seeing the bylaws, which are not public to my knowledge, we cannot know for sure, but it is our belief that the Board of Governors or League Owners may have a way to revoke the franchise rights in extraordinary circumstances (and we believe this is one of those times).

Well just like the Clippers this may be more about forcing a sale, but is not like Traffic has not being trying to sell the team.

I guess a way to save face, would be the league to take over the team like Atlanta, with the understanding that when the team is finally sold to a 3rd party, all the money will go to Traffic (or the FBI if their assets need to be frozen).

BTW that may be an issue by the league if they do try to go that way, the FBI could say, that they can not touch the team as it is an asset that belongs to traffic and it is in control of the feds right now.

Isn't the Railhawks up for sale? Traffic may just decide to move the club.
