Hello, I've seen a few posts posted here and there mentioning trusox but nothing about what they liked or disliked about them. Has any one tried them? if yes. What did you guys think about them? Do some of you wear them on top of your club socks or do you cut out the foot of the sock as shown on their website www.trusox.com Let me know what you everyone thinks. I'm thinking about possibly getting a pair.
I have them, the little grip things on the heel dig and rub up against my heel which has caused me blisters.
Yup, only wore them about 5 times. It's only one of the socks that does that, I tried switching one sock to a different foot each time and every time the same sock rubs against my heel and causes me blisters... Don't know if I should contact them.
Yeah, I don't understand the thingy with the rubber bits, to me it seems completely idiotic. Also, they now cost $40 A PAIR, and there is no way in hell that I'll be paying that price for a pair of socks.
Contacted Trusox will be receiving another pair this week free of charge. Glad they stand behind their product but hopefully my pair was just defective and these will be fine.
thinking about getting a pair... im a little worried about the durability thinking about when you wash them will the stick pads come loose? at $40 i dont want to buy a new pair every time they need to be washed
I wash them 3-4 times a week. They will get smaller after washing but that's bout it, atleast with my pairs.
I've worn them for 3 games now. No blisters at all. I find it odd someone got blisters with them since that is one of their advertising points. They work as stated. Expensive? Yes. But they really do make your footing that much better. I was not entirely impressed with the quality of the actual sock, but overall I would say they are worth it. I've washed them after every use. I'm not too keen on wearing damp or sweaty socks.
I know the company owner.....he and I have a contentious history, but many people seem to like the socks he created and I wish him the best. Personally, I feared blisters with them, and I had a test pair that I never ended up using because I double sock it anyway and I find them to be a moot point. There is a some uptake in the EPL, from players that are not being paid to wear them so they seem to work for some people, even at the highest level. The thing the other day with Pilkington having to cover his socks appeared to be caused by the dots on his TruSox. If TruSox is smart they could take a page out of the Air Jordan I marketing book and push them as a trendy and rebellious product. In future, Jim - the creator - would do well to make them in a variety of colors. I do find the $40.00 price tag to be astounding, though. There is not enough of a market for them to increase the price that much beyond what they were to start out.
Decided to given these a try back in the summer and I've been pleasantly surprised. My feet are pretty messed up, they are narrow (especially in the heel) and I have a bunion on each foot after breaking both of my big toes many years ago. This wonderful combination usually resulted in blisters on the bunions and the heels of both feet no matter what shoe I was playing in. In addition I would always tend to start sliding around a bit in my shoes towards the end of games, which I felt made it difficult to make quick cuts. I hate wearing two pairs of socks as I don't feel I get a good touch on the ball. I read about Trusox and they sounded like something that may help me. At the time I was wearing F50 Adizero IIs. Honestly the first time I wore them I had mixed results. They definitely prevented foot slippage as advertised. But on the downside they literally rubbed the skin off several areas of my foot. But I washed them, tried them again, and this time no blisters, no skin rubbing, no foot slippage. They worked perfectly. Since then I've bought 3 more pairs and never play without them. Every time I've tried wearing regular socks again (I've also switched to the Evospeed 1Ks which fit me much better then the Adizeros) I end up with the same hot spots on my feet as before. They are expensive but have definitely been worth it in my case.
Does anyone know if I should get the thin ones or normal ones? They do seem extremely pricey though so no mistakes in sizing should happen!
I can't speak to the thin socks, but I have had a great experience with the normal socks. I used to get blisters on my heels from every boot imaginable, even Copas. Ever since I've worn TruSox's, my feet have been blister free. $200 boots don't matter if your feet are in pain...
The normal thickness ones do thin out over time. In general I've always liked thin socks because I allows me a better feel for the ball. I have 4 pairs of Trusox now and I use my oldest pair for gamedays because they've thinned down a fair amount (but still work just as well).
i may have something do add to this. in the beggining i had the same problem, but after a few uses it stopped. the thing is, my feet sits alot tighter in the boot than it does with other socks, it isn't that noticeable, but it is a difference, and especially when you are shooting, the foot that you stand on while shooting often moves a tiny bit. you have to try it to notice it, but i wouldn't reccomend then for 40, but they are nice.
No matter how comfortable these may be I would find it so hard to drop 40 bucks on socks. If I double sock or just play pick up I generally pick up some nicely cushioned running socks, they work awesome.
Got them for my daughter. No more blister issues. She loves them. I end up buying her a new pair about every six months. That gets her through 2-3 practices a week and games including tournamnets. I wash them all the time. While it is pricy, being in the military I am a firm believer in quality socks.
When I cut my socks for the Truesox, I am afraid that the long socks' thread where I cut them would unravel. Does anyone have any kind of a trick to make sure the thread doesn't unravel?
