I will. That's because I wasn't reared with any illusions about who they are and what they are capable of.
I always found it interesting that Trump had to quietly make his non-drinking public. I don't know of any POTUS who announced his favorite drink or anything, but I would look a little crazy at a powerful man who didn't drink AT ALL. If he'd never drank, I'd think he was green unless I knew he had killed someone (military). If he'd been addicted and quit, I understand. Probably can't hold his liquor. Punk-ass.
Fair. The racism, misogyny, xenophobia, and personal selfishness don't surprise me much. But I really thought that we expected our President to not lob juvenile insults at the leader of a longtime ally while we are going to war, but apparently I was wrong about that.
2015: "He'll be out after the first debate." 2026: "He has two months before he croaks or he's 25thed." Yeah and which Republicans will want to vote to impeach? Will they risk being primaried in some cases? Newsflash: Donald Trump will be POTUS until he dies or until January 2029. Read that last bit again.
Never have been. Las Vegas and Six Flags are to America as America is to the world. That's been the case for generations. It was kind of the point. The whole "land of opportunity" thing for White males is a different and kind of unrelated part of the big picture. But no, America is not a studious, civilized population.
Kash Patel. Oh, boy... https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...-training-kash-patel-dana-white-b2937286.html Mixed martial arts fighters are set to host a two-day training program for FBI agents, agency director Kash Patel and UFC CEO Dana White announced. Current and former UFC fighters will host an “exclusive training seminar” at the FBI’s Special Agent Academy in Quantico, Virginia, this weekend, according to a statement released Wednesday. Academy students and senior FBI staff are expected to attend.
The inauguration, for those who are hopeful. Unless there's a big blue wave...which is possible, of course. Non-MAGA Republicans have to stick up for what used to be their party.
Yeah, I knew what you meant. I'm not hopeful. No big blue wave is forthcoming. The American citizen has changed.
He's like North Korea. They were predicting the collapse of NK back in 1995 when I was in Command and Staff College. While I doubt Trump will be here 30 years from now, it's very possible his toxic strain of politics will still be around.
Children of alcoholics are more likely to become alcoholics themselves but a small minority become teetotalers in fear of becoming like their parent.
My original thought was to post that he sounds drunk, but I know he doesn't drink. So yeah, definitely some wires are getting crossed or short-circuited in his cranium.
MMA can survive this easily. They should not be able to. They could have been doing the same thing under Obama or Biden. That it's largely two days of cosplaying isn't relevant at all- it'd be good for the public to see the left as being as able to be involved in this as the Right. But somewhere along the line, gladiatorial competitions were abandoned by certain segments of the left. Where do males turn who are just as peaceful as pacifists to other members of the left but understand that the center and right do not qualify for humane treatment?
The average American citizen will either: 1) Vote Republican because that's who they've always voted for... especially if it's an incumbent and they like where they live. 2) Vote for who they think is the better candidate on that individual ticket. They're not savvy enough to realize "if we all vote D, there's a better chance of impeachment" regardless of what they think of the mango.
Remember when Pam Bondi was indignant the Epstein victims and others weren't grateful enough to the orange pedophile that the stock market was over 50,000? Well, it closed at 46,678 today thanks to the orange idiot's Persian Gulf war.
This was an interesting discussion on Channel four with Shashank Joshi, the defence editor of the Economist magazine... Essentially, there's a world of difference between hammering Gaza which is about 140 Sq. Miles to the extent they aren't able to launch missiles and drones, and Iran, which is roughly 650,000 sq. miles. Also, as he says, even the words 'winning' and 'losing' don't mean the same thing for America and Iran. The Iranians don't HAVE to destroy every single ship passing through the straits of Hormuz. They just to be able to hit a few. Also, (as somebody who spent many years in the shipping business), I can't see how this latest suggestion of the American navy 'protecting' all shipping going through the strait is realistic. Apart from anything, the Iranians don't HAVE to attack ships just while they're going through the straits... they can attack them virtually anywhere en route to the destination, (or anywhere else for that matter), to punish them for going through it. More to the point, who is going to insure them for that risk? About 20% of the worlds oil and gas goes through the straits. How is this going to work, exactly??? This whole thing is a minefield, (NPI), and I can't see a way forward even IF donny tiny hands declares 'victory'. The nub of the issue is that, without some form of regime change, (even the sort of thing that happened in Iraq or Afghanistan), the situation is the worst of ALL worlds with belligerent and unstable people still left in charge of a massive country of around 90 million people who, as it happens, also have over 10% of the world's oil supplies. So with dth saying you guys are NOT going to be putting boots on the ground to change the regime, what's going to happen???
