Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been taken to the hospital and treated for a possible infection, according to a court spokeswoman.

"Justice Ginsburg was admitted to The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland early this morning for treatment of a possible infection," spokeswoman Kathleen Arberg said Tuesday.
"She was initially evaluated at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. last night after experiencing fever and chills. She underwent an endoscopic procedure at Johns Hopkins this afternoon to clean out a bile duct stent that was placed last August. The Justice is resting comfortably and will stay in the hospital for a few days to receive intravenous antibiotic treatment."

 

That sounds routine-ish to me, but at her age I suppose there aren't really routine-ish procedures.

It's grimly amusing that everybody in the country, of any political party, takes for granted that, should RBG suddenly die, the Republicans would dishonor themselves by not abiding to the rules of engagement that they themselves established in 2016. And that Democrats if in the same situation would honor the agreement. Even those who claim #bothsidesdoit know that to be true.

 

I would be ok with them keeping her alive by any means possible through next year.

Form what a I’ve read about her, I think she would as well.

I really hope she recovers and gets the opportunity to retire from SCOTUS and all of this political BS. She deserves so much better

 

I'm not sure about this.. The big difference is that Democrats haven't worked themselves into a corner by claiming it wasn't okay to approve an SCJ during an election year. In fact, the Dems position prior to 2016 was that if an opening did happen, the nomination could proceed with input from the Senate..

 

I see not a whit of a hint of a sniff of evidence that Democrats would have ever fired that shot.

 

It featured heavily in their response to the Republican's mischaracterization of what Biden said back in 2016 and there is not a whit of a hint of a sniff of evidence that Democrats would not have fired that shot.

 

I prosecute the guy who fired the shot, not the one who got shot. That said, I would forgive the GOP if it held a consistent standard and stated upfront, right now, that it won't fill a Supreme Court vacancy until after the outcome of the election, in January 2021. You see that happening?

 

The issue with RBG getting ill again is it will remind Trump's base that, even if she does hang in till the election, she cannot last 4 more years ... and give them added reason to turn a blind eye to his crap once again. Loading the SC is a wet dream for them.

Hopefully she'll shrug this off like before, and be well enough to attnd President Biden's first SOTU address.

A lot of twitter accounts for famous people have been hacked for this scam. The interesting thing is how poorly the scam has done considering the size of the accounts they hacked.

 

I've tried to listen to his speech in bits but after 10 minutes I couldn't take any more.

 

I am in awe of your tolerance levels.. The mere sight of him standing in front of a microphone is enough to make me change the channel.

 

I don't listen to him without screaming at the TV. I mean, I could restrain myself, put me under threat of death, I would be silent. But damn it's hard.

 

I never thought myself prone to self-abuse but maybe I should reconsider.

 

Seriously. The longest I've heard him speak recently was two sentences. That was because I was exercising 20 feet away from the radio and that's how long it took me to get to the plug.
