One thng we're learning is that there's a significant chunk of the electorate that is partisanly independent. In other words, their political lens is fundamentally fixed in the idea that there are two relatively equal parties with relatively equal levels of competence and good-faith interest in governing, and that therefore both parties are valid choices based on whatever whimsical feeling they have that day. These "partisan independents" are just as responsible for Trump as the Republicans because they let him get away with murder.
To paraphrase one of Bill Maher's Friday night guests, if you knew that a bowl of Skittles had "only 3%" poison Skittles, you would stay the hell away from those Skittles, no matter what the probabilities are. And any of you old enough to remember Green Acres will recognize that we have elected Mr. Haney as president.
You kids had it easy. Home sick in the 60s the choices were game shows, soap operas, and Dialing for Dollars movies.
I was in the hospital for 17 days in 1973, as a 12 year old. (Nothing ultimately serious, these days I suspect I would be home, because the only reason I was in the hospital was for somebody to operate the IV.) My salient memory was discovering rock & roll -- it was never in my house -- via Don Kirshner's Midnight Special. One show had James Brown. I thought the man had a fever, maybe even a fit. I had never seen anything like that, it scared me.
The first two carried well over to the 70s, tho, and All My Children exploded in the 80s. When, exactly, did Saturday morning cartoons become a thing? It was already when I grew into it.
I really can't say if Erick E is just trying to troll people or if he is really that clueless and stupid. 1246631357175955458 is not a valid tweet id
After he tweeted a photo of The NY Times he shot up because they called for gun control, I just assume stupid.
I see no reaon at this point NOT to conclude that Erickson is a stupid person AND that he is out to troll people.
Here’s another way to own the libs and dems. Don’t let them vote. That’s what Trumps Supreme Court of the United States have decided. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg issued a disturbing dissent on Monday as the conservative majority of the U.S. Supreme Court intervened in Tuesday’s upcoming Wisconsin election with a move she warned could result in “massive disenfranchisement.” The election, which includes the Democratic presidential primary, a Wisconsin Supreme Court race, and a raft of other local campaigns, has become embroiled in controversy as observers warn the coronavirus pandemic threatens the safety and integrity of the election. While Democratic Gov. Tony Evers has pushed to delay the election until June in light of the pandemic, the Republican-dominated legislature has refused to act, apparently believing the chaos caused by the crisis will depress turnout and benefit the GOP. Cross posted this story in the 2020 Election thread. That is a taste of what may happen in November. The R's, with the courts support, will do everything in their power to disenfranchise voters and suppress the vote.
I for one will wait on line from dawn to dusk to vote out this orange motherf'er. I'll get in a Travolta plastic bubble if I have to.
Per the NYT, Trump has a stake in a company that makes ... yep, hydroxychloriquine. If that is true, he should be immediately impeached and jailed.
As for the first sentence, not surprising at all. As for the second sentence it's like saying a nation shouldn't elect a circus clown as President, true but totally irrelevant.
