This is classic Trump. The first time the FBI investigated him for working with the Russians, the result was the Mueller investigation which basically said, "yeah, the Russians hacked the election and wanted Trump to win, but we can't really trace anything and we can't charge Trump with a crime because he's the president now."

So Trump has spend 3+ years deriding the FBI and the witch hunt.

So now, when the investigation (by the FBI) into all of this coordination supporting the insurrection are brought into the light, he already has laid the groundwork for "witch hunt part II."

The problem with Congress is that ultimately, it is a court of public opinion. Nobody there has any chance of getting a real job, so the idea that they could lose an election by making an unpopular choice (like handcuffing The Donald and leading him to jail) is laughable.

 

.@SenSchumer says he and @SpeakerPelosi tried to call @VP this morning to urge him to oust the president.

He said they were kept on hold for 25 minutes & then staff told them that Pence would not come to the phone.

Fricking COVID. If it wasn't for Covid, I'd be scheduling a Jan 19th 85 million person March on Washington that is pro-democracy. American Flags waived high and burning of the Trump Flags.

One of the problems with the Trumpers is they are so loud and intimidating that "everyone they know" loves Trump.
