Also, a majority of Republicans blame *Joe Biden* for the storming of the Capitol pic.twitter.com/t3ijBDFely— Catherine Rampell (@crampell) January 7, 2021 Got that? Per Republicans, the storming of the Capitol was good and right and done by patriots, but also was somehow that guy Joe Biden's fault— Catherine Rampell (@crampell) January 7, 2021
OTOH, if they stay in office things might get really bad. National security adviser Robert O'Brien, deputy national security adviser Matt Pottinger and deputy chief of staff Chris Liddell are all considering resigning, sources tell me, @jaketapper and @vmsalama.— Kaitlan Collins (@kaitlancollins) January 7, 2021
Can anyone explain why Republicans are such inveterate projectors? I can't understand the mindset behind it.
That makes total sense to me. The logic is: Joe Biden and the Democrats are trying to steal/have stolen the election, so it was the patriotic duty of Americans to storm the Capitol to stop them from doing it. Therefore, it's Biden's fault that they were forced to do it.
OANN personality has thoughts. I have an idea. Let’s stop the vote count, send everyone home, and replace the electors in the middle of the night. No questions asked. When we wake, Trump will be “President-Elect”. And you’re racists if you ask any questions.— Christina Bobb (@christina_bobb) January 7, 2021
Relatively low on the list of today's outrages and anomalies but: no briefing from FBI or DOJ or any law enforcement all day? And now we learn three other people died? I feel like there's still a lot that we don't know about what the hell happened today.— Chris Hayes (@chrislhayes) January 7, 2021
It's to construct an absolution for yourself from thoughts and feelings you have and that you "know" are awful and unsustainable if held or recognized consciously. You know psychoanalysis stuff, so you have to believe in multiple epistemic realms in the psyche and shit. Which I do, cuz Platonist.
Newly elected Kansas Rep. @JakeLaTurner has tested positive for COVID-19, his chief of staff alerted me. He voted on the Arizona objection hours ago but won’t be returning to the floor.— Bryan Lowry (@BryanLowry3) January 7, 2021

One of the moments that captures it all, essence of Trumpite entitlement. insurrectionist whines to Hunter about getting tear gassed as tho it’s a profound outrage. When Hunter asks why she broke into the capitol she said it was to overthrow the government. https://t.co/uEyWzMTi5l— Josh Marshall (@joshtpm) January 7, 2021

Tommy Tuberville gets sworn in and the Capitol’s defense immediately falls apart.— Bunkie Perkins (@BunkiePerkins) January 6, 2021
That may be the funniest thing I've seen in the last 2 days but it is the sort of comedy no one could write.
I had even money on Trump coming back 12 hours and 1 minute after his Twitter ban started and saying something that got him perma-banned. I guess I lost?
He has to delete his insurrectionist tweets before the 12 hour countdown starts. It's not clear if he's done that yet. On the other hand, Facebook just extended his ban for two weeks (i.e. after the inauguration), so maybe Twitter has done that and not announced it yet.
