If built in 1985 in the US, there's very little chance that the popcorn ceiling has asbestos. I think by 1975 it was outlawed, although some ceiling tiles and other products may have been used for decades. I think Canada still has huge asbestos mines and makes products for countries that DGAF or don't have a strong enough government to actually enforce standards.
Why is the Trump White House suddenly a very polite place to work? Everyone’s going around saying “pardon me.”— Dan Rather (@DanRather) December 2, 2020
I like those odds! I think it's fine. The only problem is you can't stick those glow-in-the-dark stars onto them.
I sort of live in the country. If I want to see stars, I can go outside. (or my partner can punch me, but she would not do that)
OSHA started establishing regs to minimize worker exposure to it in 1973, IIRC, but the construction industry to really get on board with not using it until the mid 1980s.
The theatre I went to as a kid was a grand old country opera house. Like if the Opry was in a town of 11,000 souls. But by the 80's it was just showing movies, a few weeks later than they got shown in the big city. And over the curtains and the screen in an unmissably giant beaux artes font was the word "ASBESTOS." I presume it was to ease our fears that we would all die in a fire®.

My first job was at an arena. During the summer I’d work at two outdoor venues that the arena owned and operated. This woman is every drunk woman I saw at those venues, tailgating for 6 hours, at a 80s hair metal show or a country show. a drunk woman is trump team’s star witness in michigan pic.twitter.com/qGxEI3hp2G— . I honestly have no words. Ok, shut it all down. Rudy Giuliani just farted. Check out the side-eye from the girl seated next to him the second it happens. You can’t write it... pic.twitter.com/tDCB4IDFdP— Rex Chapman🏇🏼 (@RexChapman) December 3, 2020
1. It's possible that 75 million people agree with her 2. Folks, this is what it looks like when a POC buys into a racial caste system.
Now that's what I call a truth sandwich. Thanks, @AP. More like this, please. Via @AmarAmarasingam pic.twitter.com/0wDazTlem4— Jay Rosen (@jayrosen_nyu) December 3, 2020 The interwebs tell me she's from Downriver. That's apparently a joke you'll get.
The “Republican” Governor of Georgia, @BrianKempGA, and the Secretary of State, MUST immediately allow a signature verification match on the Presidential Election. If that happens, we quickly and easily win the State and importantly, pave the way for a big David and Kelly WIN!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 3, 2020
Looks like certain Republican Senators are getting cold feet with respect to the termination of Big Tech’s Section 230, a National Security and Election Integrity MUST. For years, all talk, no action. Termination must be put in Defense Bill!!!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 3, 2020 As a Democrat, I'm like, let's call his bluff. Nancy, propose this as an amendment. Drive that wedge deeper, the wedge between the cosplayers like Cruz and Rubio who know Section 230 is a boon to their lyin' ass party, and the true believers like Trump who are dumb as a bag of hair.
I have been out of the loop for about 2 weeks. Is this actually the State of Michigan entertaining Rudy and his circus in a sworn state assembly? How did I miss this and who thought it would be a good idea to give credence to this fiasco? Or is this the Michigan version of a local 4 Season Total Landscaping press conference, next to a dildo store and a crematorium?
