What? Rich people pay the most taxes. Sure there is an argument that they can and should pay more, but let's not pull some Trump type bullshit talking point that the poor are getting taxed to fund the rich, because the poor do not even pay federal taxes (and there are many good reasons on why they shouldn't). The chart below accounts for federal state and local taxes (I am not sure if capital gains and it's related taxes are included, since they say income, I assume capital gains is not included). This is the effective total (again federal, state and local) tax rates.
R-E-L-A-X 1231618053093367816 is not a valid tweet id Republicans have all kinds of incredibly unpopular positions - tax cuts for the rich, cutting off insurance - but they all agree that conservatism is awesome and everyone should embrace it.Imagine if Democrats acted the same way about liberalism. /2— Paul Waldman (@paulwaldman1) February 24, 2020 Like no one is sitting here quaking in fear that M4A will pass or that people will get free college. Some might not think those proposals are reasonable, but it's not like typical liberal Dems fear them. We just don't want to lose and we want to do as much good as we can.— Magdi Jacobs (@magi_jay) February 23, 2020 "Siri, what are payroll taxes?"
Marquitos is a good allegory of the GOP and its voters: Keep your eyes on the (publicly-funded) road, dude https://t.co/gIW9pH76HI— Orli Matlow (@HireMeImFunny) February 24, 2020
Public funded roads is not socialism (I guess republicans do seem to argue that it is) so that may be the point of the tweet.
True, payroll taxes are based on income and they are federal. so yes only about 20% of Americans pay net zero or negative total income taxes (includes payroll). https://www.marketwatch.com/story/8...l-income-taxes-this-year-heres-why-2018-04-16 You got me this time superdave.
Best stock market ever!! It's worse than this. According to the Washington Post, Trump doesn't want to talk about Coronavirus because he is worried it will hurt the stock market— Dean Baker (@DeanBaker13) February 24, 2020
If only there were a government agency capable of providing such information: 1232033090807226368 is not a valid tweet id

..It has been a scam right from the beginning with the illegally started Mueller Report, FISA, the leaking, lying & more. Schiff should not have access to Intelligence, he is a corrupt pol. “Amazing that they went to Bernie Sanders, but not to President Trump.” @marthamaccallum— Donald J. Sotomayor wrote a dissent in which she pointed out that the Trump administration has gotten expedited hearings more in 3 years than Bush and Obama combined did in 20. Because they don't want a bunch of bad rulings before their henchmen get a case; it looks bad. (That may just be my interpretation. ) “Sotomayor accuses GOP appointed Justices of being biased in favor of Trump.” @IngrahamAngle @FoxNews This is a terrible thing to say. Trying to “shame” some into voting her way? She never criticized Justice Ginsberg when she called me a “faker”. Both should recuse themselves..— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 25, 2020 It's not a terrible thing to say. It's a terrible thing that it's true.
I don’t know who the tweeter is but, yeah, Trump is burning down all that is good or those people, things, institutions getting in the way of him having a good time. A reading from the Book of Trump: "He will separate the wheat from the chaff. He gather his chaff into the White House, and the wheat he will burn up with unquenchable fire. And yea, Mulvaney will be the Chief of Chaff."— Jack Pitney (@jpitney) February 24, 2020
Yikes, Jr. is an embarrassment.. Yikes! According to reality, your father bankrupted six companies, cost tens of thousands of people their jobs, gutted Atlantic City, turned his back on New York, looted his own charity with your help, and has spent decades lying about how much money he has. 🤡 https://t.co/NcNWVhaYgF— Tim O'Brien (@TimOBrien) February 24, 2020
I guess you can add "class warfare against the rich" to the long, long list of things that Republicans claim to be against, but actually are not.

If we can assume the Puerto Rican migration to FL is solidly Democratic, who needs these Cuban Republicans anyhow?
