Hopefully @dark knight can get the admins attention. Your feedback seems to confirm a hunch I had that the fix is on the BigSoccer back-end, and hopefully a relatively simple one.

It sucks not being able to use Tapatalk for the first time in over a decade.

I forgot to mention - I have an Android phone, so it's not an Iphone issue.

Yea, this is annoying because all of the forums I frequent are in one place,

Are any of those fora not housed on Bigsoccer or it’s related websites? If so, are those others still operating OK?

Not that you asked me, but all my forums on tapatalk still work. I did have this same problem with the shed end forum early this year, but I just deleted it off the app. Then it happened with another forum (as I mentioned, and which was fixed) and now bigsoccer.

If bigsoccer is interested in resolving the issue I think they need to open a help ticket with tapatalk. I hope they are, and do.

Just adding to the pile, but I'm having the same issue accessing BigSoccer on Tapatalk. It all stopped on 11/4 (on by my phone and iPad). Says I need to log-in, but the log-in attempt always fails.

On the bright side, I'm now getting into work about 45 minutes earlier everyday, since I rely on Tapatalk access to get caught up on BigSoccer stuff over my morning coffee.

Hey Folks - As noted in an earlier post, Tapatalk has been disabled. Security concerns have driven this and the decision to disconnect from Tapatalk is made with the security and privacy of our users and data as the top priority.

I understand the frustrations that come with change, especially when it involves a tool as integral to your daily interactions as the Tapatalk app has been. Please know that we share in your sentiment and are actively seeking out the best possible solutions.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate this challenge. In the interim, the forum has a mobile-friendly interface. Navigate to the board with a browser and once logged in you'll find the view works well on mobile.

Thanks for the update Janet. Myself and I suspect others are surviving by using the web GUI on our phones, but it's relatively clunky & painful.

But on rereading your post I am heartened by language that seems indicate intent on your parts to come up with some sort of amenable solution.

Also, I think many of us Tapatalk users would be interested to hear more specifics on the security/privacy concerns you've found with TT, if you have the time to share that. I'm wondering if TT is, or has become, inherently untrustworthy as an app, in general.

Thanks for the update. Any word on what’s happened to the BigSoccer mobile app?

The Bigsoccer web UI regularly stalls the Chrome browser in Android, requiring an app reboot. It's a painful experience coming from Tapatalk.

Many of us have been using Tapatalk for years, and it became habitual. But if Bigsoccer has a legitimate reason to block it, then that raises the question: are there other/better free apps we might use as an alternative?

Any wisdom/experience with that would be much appreciated. Assuming that the admins aren’t poised to reenable Tapatalk.

Or, alternatively, does anybody know of a reputable app that could replace Tapatalk, one that’s compatible with the type of BBS software Bigsoccer uses?

It's been 6 weeks since Tapatalk integration was turned off. For me and others this continues to be pretty damn painful. Could we please get some sort of update of the solution that was going to be worked on? @dark knight @Janet H And/or answers to the more recent questions about alternative apps which are compatible?

Seems like the Tapatalk decision was final per Janet H's last post. I'd prefer tapatalk, but going to bigsoccer via google chrome app on my phone works fine. I just logged in, checked "keep logged in" (or whatever it said), and put a bookmark widget on my phone home page.

Hmm, I had a different take on her post, based on this:

“Please know that we share in your sentiment and are actively seeking out the best possible solutions.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate this challenge”

But certainly, rather than speculating, it would be great to hear from @Janet H herself, or via @dark knight.

Wow it's really sad how there's been radio silence from the admin(s) on the issue of Tapatalk compatibility being nuked. @Janet H said they were "actively seeking" a solution but then no further word. I wonder if another admin (@Huss ??) might offer some insight/feedback.

Myself, I still am annoyed that there's no app that can be used for BigSoccer, whether that be Tapatalk or otherwise. Everytime I have to use the mobile browser site in a tab on my phone, I'm reminded of how much easier it was with Tapatalk.

I understand there were security concerns with Tapatalk, but if those can't be reconciled, then surely there must be some other app which is both compatible and reputable, to use as a front end to the BBS system the BS is based on.

Yeah... that's not gonna happen. He sold the site years ago. @Janet H and @Andy R are the new owners, although @soccernutter and @dark knight are the daily face-to-face people.

Am I the only one who never had any desire for Tapatalk because the actual website works just fine on my phone? What am I doing...wrong? Right?

Tapatalk is not going to be available. The decision to disconnect from Tapatalk (some time ago) was made with the security and privacy of users and data as the top priority. Corporate changes at Tapatalk drove this decision and a quick google can spotlight the reasons for this choice. In the meantime the current forum software supports mobile viewing.

And the good news: In the coming months, the forum will be getting a software update. That update will include a new and quite nice mobile interface. :)

@Janet H can you post a new thread in this forum with the updates that will occur?

Thanks for the update. But I don’t think anybody in this thread really voiced any doubt that the decision to pull the plug on Tapatalk was wise.

The question I had, and still have, is whether there’s any other app that’s compatible with the BBS software we’re based on? Did anyone look into that?

And like @soccernutter, I agree it would be really great to know what changes are coming. Starting with whether we’re sticking with the same software, and just upgrading version/features, or migrating to something new?

We will be sticking with the current software but in an updated state. The current software is aging and based on XenForo. We will be moving to the latest version of Xenforo. The date for the transition is not yet set but should be this calendar year. There will be plenty of notice.

Regarding compatible apps... Xenforo is mobile-ready, no additional app will be needed and push notifications can be enabled if you desire. There is a function to place an app like "bookmark" on your home screen as well.

Thanks Janet that’s a very helpful update. A big part of me is happy to see you sticking with Xenforo, being as I’m generally happy with how it works on my computer/browser.

But on my phone, I’m much more app oriented and have found using the site within a browser/tab is harder than it was when we had a compatible app to use. So…

I’m still wondering if you guys have done any looking into other app options? For example, google tells me that Xenforo makes something called a progressive Web app (PWA) that I think is intended to be a phone client app for and users. No idea if it’s any good or if it would be easy enough for you folks to enable, but I’d love to hear if any of you did any R&D for alternatives to Tapatalk?

    Thanks again for the feedback
