Edilson was in Brasil but retired. He was old IMo back in 2002. Luizao I thought was still playing in lower divisions. Junior I thought was in Belo Horizonte last year.

Edilson is actually playing with Bahia. Roque Junior is with Ituano, playing in the Paulista with Juninho. Edmilson went back to Spain with Zaragoza. Belletti almost signed with Flamengo, but Chelsea blocked the move. Vampeta is retired. Denilson does not have a club. I think Luizao doesn't have one either.
I saw something in wikipedia that he is playing with AO Kavala - whatever the hell that is! LOL http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denílson_de_Oliveira_Araújo
He offered himself to Flamengo for a contract based on performance incentives, but we turned him down. I guess he found a home.
Add Dinho, Belleti, Denilson, give them time to train & they'll pull at least a semifinal berth in SA 2010.
lol all these names are annoying me. i had thought that denilson was playing for bunyodkor along with rivaldo and felipao...but it turns out its another denilson haha.
the 2002 is very interesting for something else -- half of the team were based in brazil. amazing what even 4 years does...and now 8 -- where we'll be lucky if even 1 guy is based in brazil this time.
it definitely has, although there are several things that concern me. 1) the increasing influence of agents and sports marketing companies are probably at the heart of the increased quality -- the teams still cant pay for most of these players themselves. they can pretty much dictate when a player goes (like with keirrison, for example) 2) veterans are coming back, which has also increased the quality...but with this, and connected to #1, we have younger guys leaving at 18, which really sucks. im honestly very concerned about 18 year olds leaving (will the twins develop, coutinho, etc) -- and it probably has a lot to do with why we have hardly seen a single teenager on the team in the past few years -- Pato is pretty much the exception (and david luiz). The stars who have made it abroad were ready to start on their respective teams -- Kaka and Ronaldinho come to mind. not only that, but it really does affect our youth teams...and might even affect the youngsters' connection with brazil (will we see increased naturalization?) the list of promises who have struggled or vanished altogether is just troubling. Denilson, Lucas, anderson, Celsinho, Breno, rafael sobis.
I agree. I heard there was going to be some new legislation added to Pele's rule. I guess we'll see what the effects are.
