At last the draw is made and we know who we play! Sweden, England and Paraguay! (I hope to make the trip to Germany but whether i get a ticket remains to be seen, will keep posted!) At first glance, a lot of Trinis look at this group as decisively hard (which it is) but considering it's the World Cup what could we expect? (Togo, Switzerand and Saudi Arabia?) I'd say i prefer to play England as opposed to Italy (even though would have been great if i do get to go, to see Italian stars in action), Brazil, Argentina and we couldn't draw Mexico! With that in mind, France, Spain, Germany and England were left so ideally i'd say not ovrly disappointed (might even be somewhat an added bonus that most of our players play in UK!) Sweden just behind Czech Republic and Netherlands would be the hardest second tier teams! So that draw was a bit ugly! Paraguay is not too bad glad to avoid Ghana or Ivory Coast! The countdown is on!!!
Always have! Was there for 4 of the 5 final round games for WC qualifying! Missed the playoff against Bahrain (cudn't get a ticket, there was riots!) I just believe that everyone supports their own, by ITALY, Juventus i mean the bigger teams i support! Never saw the need to point out the obvious and don't plan on putting it on display now i guess!
Trinidad will bring in afew UK players with trinidad roots . But it will most likely end in a 0-0-3 record though .
Having seen T & T play many times , I can tell you that Rooney will feel like he played against against caterpillars the day after the game .
I met one of the young T&T players at a MLS exhibit a couple of weeks ago. First name was Kevon, he plays for USF and was called up recently for their WC camp. Seems like a very nice young man, I hope the experience does him well. There is at least one other and possibly two from T&T on the team. If I get a chance to catch a game or two I'll keep my eye on them.
Kevon Neaves? He came on as a sub in the Iceland match on Saturday. It was in near 80 mins though, didn't really see much of him to form an opinion.
Yes, nice young fellow. Although I do worry that T&T will need help this deep in their system, I hope he has a lot of future success. I've been trying to get tickets to one of your World Cup matches but thus far with no success.
Trinidad & Tobago 2-0 Iceland (Yorke 2) Forgot to update this thread with the result when the game was played during the international break for friendlies! Making his debut for T&T was Tony Warner GK for Fulham in the premiership in the second half after Shaka Hislop GK for West Ham United in the premiership started!
