im surprised theres no thread on the tourney what happened BSMX? we all busy o q pex anyways your guys thoughts on this team? they steamrolled past a lot of the teams would like to see them vs tougher opposition but i liked the Lomeli kid winger from Necaxa and Carrillo forward from Santos and Gael Alvarez and Urias
A bit more discussion here: https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/b...-thread-vol-ii.2000756/page-478#post-41214149 I think those plus Barajas and maybe #5 are the best ones. Have high hopes for Carrillo
Should have been Togo, but is another opponent 📋 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗫𝗜🔵 Sélection Méditerranéenne x Mexique 🇲🇽⏱ 5.30pm / 🏟 @villedaubagne @miseleccionmx #MEDMEX #TMR2023 pic.twitter.com/hTb3YBwh05— Tournoi Maurice Revello (@TournoiMRevello) June 6, 2023
It was supposed to be Togo but due to financial reasons they could not attend last minute. So the organizers put together a team of players u22 I believe that play on French teams, not all players were French so they named it Mediterranean Select or something
Taking care of business in Toulon, this time vs. Qatar. Game ended 4-0. Goals by Santi Trigos, Ramón Juárez, and two by Luca Martínez. 📋 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗫𝗜🇲🇽 Mexique x Qatar 🇶🇦⏱ 5.30pm / 🏟 Mallemort@Miseleccionmx @qfa#MEXQAT #TMR2023 pic.twitter.com/3stX5B5pf9— Tournoi Maurice Revello (@TournoiMRevello) June 9, 2023
what an absolute brick put up by the boys vs Australia. Didn't even look like they cared much. Now watch them not make it out of the group

I've watched over 50% of the minutes from Mexico games in this Toulon tourney and from what I have seen Marcelo has been a disappointment. For those that called for him to be included in the SC roster last year, he had no reason being there. You compare him at his age to Gio, Vela, and some others at that age and it's not close.
He gives me Lainez energy. I have higher hopes for Jordan Carrillo in that position. Hope Marcelo proves me wrong.
He got benched in an elimination game... unless he was injured, I think the writings on the wall. There's like 3-4 different Arsenal academy products they fancy higher than Marcelo.. says a lot when Ethan Nwaneri whose 15 gets moved up to replace you in the PL2 team. He's already debuted for the first team aswell. Balogun scored 21 goals in Ligue Un and looks like he won't find a place on the first team squad. Seems like you need to already enter the scene with a bang or if not it's pretty much gonna be loan after loan to random teams like Oviedo or Coventry till they process you out.
They have maybe one of the oldest teams in the tournament. Plus their coach is Dely Valdes, the one who was the coach of the National Team like 8 years ago so the perfect storm for an experienced team to make a run in this tourney. Wouldn't be surprised if they win the whole thing with their pragmatic approach.
reminder that the final is on at 11:00 a.m. EST Australia just claimed 3rd place after beating France 2-0. Strong tournament by the Olyroos.. super unlucky result against Los Canaleros.
Halftime: Panama 1-0 Mexico Panama take the lead from the spot thanks to Ricardo Phillips after a soft foul in the box. Panama have been the superior team in the first half, they simply look too fast, too athletic, and too dynamic all over the field compared to this Mexican team that seems a step or two behind Los Canaleros.
I don't know what position Dupuy plays, but homie has had to play rightback in support. Mexican forwards barely getting service and are struggling to match the pace of the Panamanians. That right wing for Panama is having a field day with the Mexican left back. Mexico's best passages of play have come from when the Centerbacks make deep runs on the ball into the Panamanian third due to how their "counter" press is set-up. But as soon as they look to offload the ball, they run out of ideas. They simply can't match Panama's athleticsm to 'dismarquarse". It's so weird to say that, but that is what it is.
Commentator crew sounds like its on ESPN Deportes. I'm watching it via facebook live lol SoyPobre.jpeg
