I'm a bit surprised that the goalkeeper for Chivas hasn't received a call up for the WNT. Don't know how old she is, but she's pretty beast. Great competition for Santiago or Alvarado, depending on what category she falls under.
Thread has been neglected for a bit. Sub-17 is in the concacaf final and will play vs the USA. From what I've seen so far, Mexico has a great chance at winning this thing. Match will be played tomorrow (June 12) at 1:30pm PST or 4:30pm EST. You can watch it for free on go90. No subscription required or email or any of that bs. They also have a shítload of leagues on there too like the European ones and SA ones.
The important part was that they already qualified for the World Cup, but I would love to see them win
Mexico lost the final 3-2. It was a very good game. Mexico held the advantage twice (1-0 & 2-1) but was unable to sustain it in the end. #Sub17Fem | ¡Estamos orgullosos, chicas! 🙋🏻 🇲🇽Nos quedamos con el segundo lugar del Premundial. Mexico will be participating in the u-17 WC later this year in November and is grouped with South Korea, Spain, and Colombia. The u-20 will also be participating in the WC held in August, and is grouped with Brazil, England, and North Korea.

Brazil missed a penalty at 95’.
Girls soccer will improve on the next years with the liga femenil. They will be champs before the male team.
their defense is fvckin shit and slow. its a miracle that brazil was just as bad and failed to score few chances after the 3-2 scoreline especially the PK.
it would be nice, but at the same time it kind of feels like it wouldn't be saying much if they won a world cup before the men I mean there just isn't that much competition in women's soccer. Before 2011 Japan was terrible in the WWC, GS exit after GS exit, and when it seemed like they started to take it a little more seriously they go all the way to the final and win just like that. and then they get to the final again 4 years later lol. so basically you can do damage at the international level in women's soccer if you take it at least somewhat seriously
Bar one Chivas girl, I think the whole defense (including the GK) were all girls in US colleges. It seems Mexico produces better offensive talent I guess since most attacking players are from Liga MX
That's kind of the issue with most of women's football. It hasn't been professionalised enough yet, so the more athletic teams tend to be the ones that dominate.
I'm legit puzzled as to why North Korea is a powerhouse in women's teams when you consider the macroeconomic trends that make women's football more unequal than the male side. I was expecting the loss vs England, but the loss vs North Korea was weird as hell.
In a (still very) amateur game, having communist farming systems help. Just like the American college system works in the women game but not for the men.
North Korea was banned in 2011 Women’s WC for doping. It isn’t a coincidence that their youth teams started winning trophies after that.
Mexico is sixty minutes away from being eliminated from the World Cup and I see a lack of interest everywhere. Also, a team that is playing worse than the ones beforehand.
