Okay, actually picked up another LA festival screening that same weekend. So if you've been dying to see VIRTUALLY (and I know you have), here are the details: Saturday, June 15th at 11 a.m. at the Santa Monica Playhouse on 3rd Street Promenade as part of the California International Shorts Festival: http://www.calshorts.com/Tickets.html Sunday, June 16th at 10 p.m. at the Cinemark 18 & XD Theaters on Howard Hughes Parkway as part of the Silicon Beach Film Festival: http://siliconbeachff.com/tickets/ I'll be at both screenings and part of a Q&A after each. If you are coming, please PM me and let me know.
Awesome! Totally gonna try to make this one. We already know what happens when Zlatan's in space. Spoiler alert: he scores.
Hope to see some of you this weekend. I can confirm that two Galaxy BS regulars are going to the screenings.... but their identities will remain secret to protect the guilty....
Just got back from seeing the movie and it was great! Thanks Patrick, and you certainly win the Baysider award for best short in the festival.
A heart-felt thank you to @Baysider and @MPNumber9 for taking time out of their days to come to the screening today. Really appreciate it! And now that I know what MLS teams Baysider almost became fans of before the Galaxy, let me say— well done, Baysider, well done!!
It was really nice to finally meet you. Sorry we didn’t have more time to talk and sorry the overall quality of the movies in that block wasn’t quite up to par. On the good side, it made my movie seem even better! However, that theater is perfectly calibrated and that was the best sound and picture of any festival we’ve been at. So you got to see and hear it the way it is supposed to be. Thanks for coming out and staying up late with us!
No worries. Had a good time! Have to buy you a beer next time we're both at what our marketing department would probably call "Dingity Helath Sprots Pank".
I got there just in time! (I went to the Santa Monica Playhouse, a few blocks over, first) I have to say, I really enjoyed the movie! Well done! And the director is an okay guy, too. You know, for a Hollywood-type.
Ok, we've won a bunch more awards for the film, so I've come here to brag. Picked up two this past weekend. And might have more exciting news to share soon. It'll be playing at the Glendale Film Festival in October at the Laemmle Theater in Glendale, in case anyone still wants to see it. Will share exact info on screening date and time when it comes out. And, if you want to hear me talk for 70 minutes about filmmaking and about the time I snuck onto the set of "Escape from LA" (and also briefly mention how much I'm into soccer) I'm the featured guest this week on the Movie Menu Podcast: https://www.moviemenupodcasts.com/ If Pavon starts liking the Virtually Instagram page I'll let everyone know right away, as that will be the DEFINITIVE proof that the Galaxy have signed him....
Congrats Trickhog! Even after you no longer have time for us plebes because you are too busy attending parties with Brad, George and Amal and all the Jennifers I still will be bragging "Yeah, I knew Trickhog - that's what we called him - way back when he..."
Alright gang, the VIRTUALLY festival run will be coming to a close this fall. Don't worry, there are some other things in the works to announce about the film, but you will have 2 more chances to see it up on the big screen before the festival run is over. For the south bay / OC crowd I finally have a screening -- Seal Beach Film Festival. It runs Sept 27-29 down in Seal Beach. Will share exact screening time and location when I get it. And for the LA / SFV / SGV crowd we are screening at the Glendale Film Festival at the Glendale Laemmle Theater at 207 N. Maryland Ave. in Glendale - this one will have great sound and picture. We are screening Monday night, October 14, at 7 p.m. in a block of Sci-Fi short films. Should be very cool. I will post links to both screenings when they become available. Thanks.
OK Trick, I put the Glendale showing my calendar. What's the deal on tickets - and, no, I am NOT asking for a pass but willing to show my support by buying one for that night.
Tickets aren't on sale yet. But I will gladly buy you one when they go on sale. And will post the link here.
As we approach rivalry weekend, I just want to point out that Virtually already has more hardware than LAFC, even when you include their first incarnation....
A number of years ago, I ate the largest burger that Fatburger makes. I received a certificate for this. Therefore, I also have more hardware than LAFC (though Trick's is clearly far more impressive).
So here it is - the one and only screening of Virtually in the OC/South Bay area. We will be screening next Saturday night, Sept. 28, at 6 p.m. at the Seal Beach Film Festival. I'll be there, so if you plan to come out let me know! http://www.sealbeachfilmfest.com/
So it just came to my attention that we get 4 free tickets to the screening tonight at the Seal Beach Film Festival for Virtually. It's at 6 p.m. tonight at the J. H. McGaugh School Auditorium at 1698 Bolsa Ave, Seal Beach, CA 90740 PM me if you want any of the tickets!
