What, he likes them with more curves? Inquiring minds want to know. Nope...as I said, I'm not gonna get into it. Must resist.
I'd hope he'd pull him at half time if it were 7-nil.....especially on the same field with the likes of Nick Garcia.
I can't handle this. You have no idea how sad I will be if this is Cowboy's last game. I've cried already thinking that I might be missing seeing him play his last game. Seriously, I'm never gonna get over that. But this won't be the last game....
Yeah, what!!?? This thread has taken an unexpected turn...and it's my fault! So sorry. So what were we.... oh, yeah. Tribute. Tribute.
I seriously doubt it, as the city of San Jose won't be renamed "San Jose(San Francisco)" anytime soon. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
When was NJ renamed NY/NJ? !!! But seriously, does this Oct 29 deadline mean anything anymore (about 1 wk away now). Does it at least mean SJ can start selling season tickets soon?
So, what I guess most of you are saying is that if there is not 100% proof that a player is gone, no recognition of his last home match is in order? It just seems sad.....Donovan, Agoos, Ekelund, DeRo and Dayak all have made the last 4 seasons absolutely magical. Hopefully they win MLS Cup and next season, those who left, come back to receive their rings, in a pre game ceremony(vs LA of course), so we can give them the ovation they deserve.
well you don't want to sound like you're kicking them out, I mean Agoos, against all odds, could deside to get prostetic limbs and break a record of oldest professional soccer player.. in the words of bart simpson... cool your jets man.
Though I may be one of the few posters here old enough to remember Lenny and Squiggy... damn, I'm old! GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
As far as a tribute, at the Dallas Burn game, when they introduced the teams, they gave a special intro to Eddie Johnson "fresh off his hat-trick in World Cup Qualifying," blah, blah, blah. So perhaps an intro for Donovan along the lines of "captained the National Team to a 6-0 stomping of Panama and qualified us for the 2nd Round of World Cup Qualifying," blah, blah, blah. Just an idea.
Seriously? They said all that? How can you even hear all that? Even when I'm sitting under the media box I can't hear all that. I'm screaming too much. By the time they get past cap...all the girls will be screaming.
Haven't people noticed that the Quakes usually take a year to acknowledge anyone/anything, if they do so at all? E.g., they acknowledge people the next time that person is in town. Examples: 1. 2003 MLS Cup celebration 2. Frank Yallop -- plaque given at the SJ/Canada MNT game 3. Johnny Moore -- allowed on field at NASL reunion game 4. Landon bobblehead with MLS Cup trophy almost 1 year after the fact I know there are other examples, but they escape me right now... Like Joe Cannon, didn't they acknowledge him much later? SO sadly, if Landon leaves, I assume it won't be acknowledged until the next time the US MNT plays in SJ, which might be a couple of years out. If you haven't noticed, other than the Yallop game, US Soccer has not held MNT or WNT games at Spartan for quite awhile.
