Let those people root for who ever they want, we know who the real fans are. And honestly, after seeing World Cup fan videos and seeing my facebook wall absolutely littered with posts about the US, I saw how much this country actually embraced the USMNT. Even if the majority of the crowd is cheering for Spain (and everyone will be wearing red, so you won't notice) I'll bet most of them will be willing to adopt the US as their #1a team.
OUT OF TOWNERS TRAVELING TO BOSTON If you are traveling for this game and planning to stay overnight AO has reserved a block of rooms at the Hampton Inn in Cambridge across from the Leechemere Green Line station. Please contact brian@theamericanoutlaws.com for more info on reserving these rooms. The rate is $149 a night and there are a limited number of rooms. There are several graduations in Boston that weekend and they have gobbled up many of the hotel rooms already.
I know this place and the location is pretty damn good: * Two stops from Lechmere on the Green Line is North Station and an area that used to be known as The West End. This area is across from The Garden and features a ton of bars and restaurants including: The Grand Canal: http://www.grandcanalboston.com The Harp: http://www.harpboston.com Boston Beerworks: http://www.beerworks.net The Fours: http://www.thefours.com McGanns: http://www.mcgannsirishpub.com You can also catch the 69 bus from Lechmere to Harvard Square where on Cambridge Street you can find a good number of excellent Brazilian and Portuguese Restaurants, as well as some nice bars and restaurants in Inman Square. For those driving to the match you're no more than a 5-minute drive to I-93 south which will take you to I-95 south and Route 1 to Gillette Stadium.
Normally they allow them though we are not sure what they will do with this game. Policy with the Revs generally requires things be cleared before GameDay, like a few days before.
Easy question for you Boston guys.. I'm flying in for this game. Which airport should I be looking at? Right now I'm looking at flights for Logan airport. Is this correct? If it helps, I'm staying the Renaissance hotel right next to the stadium.. thanks all
Logan airport is going to be the easiest airport to find a flight to, and most likely the cheapest as well, unless you're coming from a major airport hub. At least, that's been my experience.
If you're staying in Foxboro it really doesn't matter since it's in the middle of nowhere and a 40+ minute drive from both Logan Airport in Boston and T.F. Green Airport in Providence (Warwick, R.I.). How do you plan to make it from the airport to the stadium? Are you renting a car?
You can also look into flying into TF Green in Providence RI. Foxboro is right in the middle of both.
You didn't answer my question. I asked how you plan to make it from the airport to the hotel. I know that you're staying at the hotel at the stadium. There is no public transportation from the hotel to and from the airports.
You can take a cab. It's going to be like 80 to 100 bucks though. Just wanted you to be aware of that...
It will cost you at least $100 if I were to estimate to take a cab to Foxboro Stadium. Foxboro is not a flat rate city it is a meter destination, plus there are airport fees. You'll need to pay that to get back into the city, too. I would strongly encourage you to just stay in the city and take one of our buses. You'll save yourself some serious coin and hassle.
Ouch...It's probably cheaper to stay in Foxboro, but what you'll save, you'll spend on transportation. The Banshee bus will be getting me there...
Hitch a ride. I mean, you might be a serial killer, but then again, you might not and could be friendly
Thanks again all for your help on this! Going with family so the buses or staying elsewhere won't work for us. While I'd have a great time on the bus, don't think my 4 & 5 yr olds would enjoy it as much. This is going to be one expensive arse trip...
Is there any possibility of renting a car? I believe it's about $40 a day on average, and some places like Hertz will give you a discount if you pay in advance. Of course, this depends on how long you plan on staying there, but it's an option worth considering for a short trip.
Over 40,000 tickets sold for USA Vs Spain according to USSF. AO is looking for people to help out with the tailgate and more importantly with Tifo. Please contact AmericaOutlawsBoston@gmail.com or kyle.w.lindsay@gmail.com for more info.
You could most likely rent a car for 25.00-30.00 a day off a site like expedia, by doing that you also have freedom to head into Boston etc.
Yep, I started looking into car rental. With the party I'm taking, we'd be looking for an SUV... 6 of us going. The scary part is the drive from Logan to the hotel/stadium. I googled the route and looks like a straight shot. Of course we all know how easy it looks on paper... Can anyone confirm how easy or difficult the drive from the airport to stadium is? I'd have GPS... and yes, I have gotten lost using my gps before...
