Just got an email from the US Embassy in Honduras. It said that embassy personnel are prohibited from attending the game on Saturday (and also recommended that all Americans avoid the game). Doesn't affect my plans (I'm still going and not the least bit worried), but still found it amusing.
Im a soilder, a rider, a ghetto survior... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiYqzLXL_Us"]YouTube - USA Soccer/Football Confederation Cup Run (All goals)/Tribute[/ame] Great video to get you pumped...So here is what I know from my short time down here in SPS....The ATM's work to get us Lempiras...The local mom and papa resteraunt tipico was a great host to myself and loved that people from the USA came down to Honduras considering their political situation...Other than some graffiti there is nothing obvious about the political situation...The drinks and food are cheap and delicious....I went to Frank's bar and it was great...He is a great host and his partner Edwin from Netherlands is a great guy too...The bar is not that big, but that is what makes it great as it has a great combination of locals and ex-pats who are able to converse and share stories and they atmosphere is truly great...They are plannin some very big things for Friday night, so we all will be going there as there hospitality is second to none...I know the directions and if we all meet somewhere either the Hilton or Intercontinental, we will be fine...The cab ride is $4...cant beat that....Safe travels to all and if you are at the Hilton ask for Andrew there and I told them to direct you to my room..

Bob Ley of ESPN was on the ATL flight down here today. Talked to him while in the immigration line. Seems like a nice guy.
Does everyone want to meet in the lobby at the Hilton at 730, and then we can all head over to Frank's?? I have the directions and went their last night so the taxi guy knows where to go..Sieb

Dear U.S. Soccer Fans, Thank you for your support of U.S. Soccer and the Men’s National Team. We have been informed that U.S. fans attending the match on Saturday, October 10, between the U.S.A. and Honduras in San Pedro Sula should enter Estadio Olimpico through Puerto 00 or Puerta 13. We look forward to seeing you in Honduras. Sincerely, Grace Kim U.S. Soccer

Frank took damn gfood care of us last night at his bar. Driving in San Pedro Sula is worse than Boston because it is a free-for-all. We're streaming live again.http://sn.im/sfqks
Keep it coming guys, we're in SPS vicariously through you. Any pictures of Frank's joint? I'm curious.
