Yup I did. He did a studio 90 interview, played some dude who won a raffle to play FIFA bs Jozy, Jozy skinned him 3-0, and signed some autographs. Met him and got my jersey signed, cool guy.
It rained. It poured. The poncho kept my balls dry. That's about it. 21000 in attendance. The crowd looked 70 – 30 Honduras.
Guess thats Miami's last game for a while, and ends the debate for "MLS in Miami". Hopefully they just keep the Florida games in Tampa.
12-.14k would be my estimate. Many of the 21k figure probably did not show up in the rain. I would estimate 65/35 Honduran.
Tampa did 26k with a large portion being Pamamanian fans for an actually meaningful game with good weather. Hard to really see a strong difference between the two.
The afternoon sun shines heavily on that side of the field. If the skies had been clear, it would have been hard to see the action with the sun at that angle, maybe. . .
Yeah, I agree with you. 3 USMNT games in 1 year was a bit excessive for the Philly area. But if I recall, this game was held on a weekday, and the Union had just hosted 2 games in the last 4 days, one of them being a friendly against Chivas of Mexico. So people had spent there dough on the U. (Look at my current location dumbass)
Exactly. Miami is a unique city that needs marketing, had bad weather and still drew 21K (big walk-up) to a game against a so-so opponent. The USSF shouldn't rush to go back, but it isn't the worst place it has played it either.
21K tickets were sold...I was there and I would anticipate there were 4-5K that bought tickets but didn't come due to the rain. However, there were only 10K tickets sold as of the morning of the match, so 11K walkup is pretty amazing given how terrible the weather was.
