    Fairhaven Ma.
Early stages of planning for Saturday in DC. If we go, train, plane or automobile? A decicion to be made soon.

Independence air has $59 fares to DC from both Boston and Providence. Sunday is just over $100 for the return trip.
A very high probablity for my group of 3 to travel next week.

    Thoughts, ideas, comments.

I'm a big fan of travelling support. If you have any questions of places to stay, things to do, how to get around, etc. for people coming down, feel free to ask.

I'll hate you and your team for 90 minutes on Saturday, but before kickoff and after the final whitle blows is a different story.

I think most of the DC BigSoccer community feels this way. (there's probably a few exceptions). If you have questions, I'm sure several people will be willing to help you out.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, if you can fly into Reagan National, you can easily get around without a car. Flying into Dulles will require either a car, or taxi/Super Shuttle to/from the city. Keep that in mind while pricing things. I know USAir has a Providence-National route that cost me $156 r/t a few weeks ago.

Yeah, the problem is, those "exceptions" gave one of our members a bloody mouth and hurled beer bottles at some of our group and our rental van after the game, none of which security was interested in addressing for us. I don't expect there's too much interest in going back to RFK any time soon. I wouldn't be opposed to another trip some time, but from speaking with others who went down, I'm probably the exception.

I know exactly how you must feel.

After we had a bunch of Fire Ultras surround us back in '98 or '99 (complete with scarves over their faces so we couldn't identify them), it took me a while to even think about going back to Chicago.

Look into the Providence to BWI on Southwest. The rate is currently $82 each way.

I'm sure you do. That sounds like a really awful experience. After our trip, I did express my understanding that the attackers did not represent the majority of DC fans. I don't blame anyone but them, and security for their poor handling. I hope any revs fans who do make the trip down have a safe and fun experience which we can build on to get another trip going down there soon.

I'd love to fly, but I'm not seeing the $100 round trip ... if anyone can find $100 - $150 round trip leaving Saturday, coming back first thing Sunday ... please let me know.

I agree. I recently flew SW to BWI for a wedding in DC, and rented a car at the airport - piece of cake on a weekend.

For those in a pinch, it's possible to get from DC to Boston for $60 round trip. It involves taking a chinatown bus from Boston to NYC then one from NYC to DC. After the game, wash, rinse and repeat. It's about 8.5 - 9 hours each way. Small price to pay.

Also, for what it's worth, I made the trip to DC for the 1-0 loss a few weeks ago and met up with a couple Rev fans who now live in DC. We had no problem with the DC supporters and even received compliments on our Rev jerseys from the late '90s (Back when one could get them).

Anyone get tickets yet? I think that those going should try and get a section together. Any ideas on a section / parking lot?

I suggest staying away from lot 8. That's all I've got.

I have already spoken with one of the DC guys, and he's going to help us get a section. I'm trying to figure out how many people are going, and then I'll pass along the info to him and those who are going can call him and get tickets in the Revs section. So those that are going, please email me at patfan1@yahoo.com.

Question for anyone who's thinking of going down ... at this point, I'm looking at flying down $59 one way, and then renting a car and coming back right after the game. Anyone up for this? Please? Beuller?

Once all this is set, we'll try and coordinate a location for the tailgate ... I honestly believe that the Eagles and Barra Brava will be very courteous before and after the game, and I think we could tailgate in the same location (of course it's only we if I can go!).

I believe the Screaming Eagles welcome traveling fans to their tailgate--I'd suggest contacting K on this board for more info. I know that several groups have tailgated with the Eagles in the past.

Opposing fans are not welcome at Barra Brava tailgates.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply we'd tailgate with the groups, I said we could tailgate in the same spot as we did last time we were there, which was also Lot 8.

ok. one time a group looking to hang with the Eagles mistakenly showed up at the Barra tailgate. While not violent, it wasn't friendly...

I don't believe DCU will be setting up the Soccer Celebration (they didn't last Sat) so there should be some decent lawn space up near the SE tailgate area in lot 8 if you want to do your own thing. I know you folks view the way we run our tailgate as one the greatest affronts to humanity (or so I've heard :p ) but if you really don't want to have to haul tailgate crap to the game we'd be happy to have you (we promise not to divulge back to the Rev's supporters who amongst you were there!) It's $8 a head for guests (just say your a guest of Kim) and it's all you can eat and drink (we have Foggy Bottom keg beer, last week someone brought a huge container of margaritas, someone else brought some bbq chicken to add to the regular stuff). You can order up a pass via paypal, send to payments@screaming-eagles.com (just let us know how many in the notes section) and you pick them up on game day at the SE treasury table in lot 8 (look for white canopy with SE logo).

Otherwise, see you on Sat. If you need any other travel info, gimme a yell at kim@screaming-eagles.com

Here are the options for tickets. Do you guys have one that you would like in particular and I can get you guys the group rate (not the number in parenthesis) in a Revs section.

The premium sideline seems like it would make sense. If you're interested, please let me know ASAP and how many tickets you'd need.

I couldn't find anyone who wanted to ride back right after the game and split the rental, so I'm out.

Reserved Seating Prices are as follows (Day of Game Prices in Parentheses):
    Spectator/Endline: $18 ($22 Reg.)
    Premium/Sideline: $22 ($28 Reg.)
    VIP/Midfield: $30 ($35 Reg.)
    Mezzanine/Covered Box Seating: $35 ($45 Reg.)

I will set up a section for the Revs supporters and then pass that info to anyone who gets in touch with me. Once you get in touch with me, I'll get you the info you'll need to have to call my contact at DC and get tickets in that section.

FYI - Screaming Eagles and Barra Brava occupy sections 132-139 on the sideline.

In my experience, there just aren't any good seats at RFK. The field feels like it's a mile away and the grade is much too low to provide good sightlines.

Just buy cheap tickets. Makes no difference.
