New Benfica boss Giovanni Trapattoni is currently after Roma's Greek defender, Traianos Dellas and Inter's, Karagounis. What do you guys say? Keep Dellas? We all know what he is capable of after his magnificent performance at Euro 2004, OR sell him for at least 5m (Can't see his tag being higher than that) and put that money towards levelling Man U's bid for Mexes I personally say keep him. Mexes has clearly stated that the only team he wants to go to is Roma, and Ferrari also looks like he would be up for a Giallorossi move. Dellas can certainly be a big help for Roma in our Serie A and Champions League run. Remember, we need as much squad depth as possible. Now considering we get Ferrari and Mexes, our only defenders next season will be: Panucci, Mexes, Ferrari, Chivu, Candela, Dellas. 6 defenders, take away Dellas thats 5. Chivu may not be ready for the beginning of the season, and say later on in the campaign we get hit by a injury bug which leaves one or two defenders out. Now we only have THREE, then keep Chapions League in mind. Would you really want to call up those young primavera defenders for an important Champions League match? I personally wouldn't. I don't think it is worth selling Dellas for maximum of 5m. Plus, I wouldn't mind seeing the Greek hero here in North America
Keep Dellas! I've read that Panucci has thoughts of rejoining Capello and the Mexes transfer has been blocked by the French FA. If we can start the season with the 6 defenders you've listed, I would be very happy.
