Transfers, UEFA/FIFA rules and EU laws

  1. When a transfer takes place, rules and regulations and laws make it a complicated affair.
There have been posts squattered around that were about these things, but it seems a good idea to have a central point where it all comes together and in the process updates in all of this comes up sorted by most recent practices.
Maybe it's a good idea to make it sticky too.

  4. The nice thing about this it isnot an UEFA New Year's good intention item (which ones did you "forget" from your list?;)), but part of an EU/UEFA plan that the UEFA was forced to come up with after Euro Commission threats with measures.
However the final act lies with the European Supreme Court, that will judge if arrangements and rules violate EU laws when someone (PSG/Barca/Real?) makes a complaint, especially the ones on free trade and free movement.

^^ Another former 16 year old is now back in the Dutch League, Deshawn Redan. Couldn't make it in England and now Hertha are loaning him back. History shows that transfer at that age is no guarantee of success. I guess the money is OK.

  6. I wonder how an ESL can abide by the rules set in this resolution.
