This page has him in the 91st percentile for non penalty goals per 90 minutes. The problem for us is he was out for long stretches last season. https://fbref.com/en/players/fa031b34/Richarlison
I wouldn't want to go there for 2 days. 10 questions about expat life in Saudi Arabia answered | Expatica Life in Saudi Arabia is so different from many other countries that expats can find it difficult to adjust. Having to cope with some of the harshest summers anywhere is one constant irritant. More seriously, expats may find themselves unable to navigate the cultural landscape, while the total bans on alcohol, recreational drugs, and LGBT+ activities are a strong deterrent for many. While laws have relaxed considerably in the wake of the recent reforms allowing for greater cultural expression, much more can be done on this front. As with anywhere else, it makes sense to do your research when considering a move to Saudi Arabia; ideally, by reaching out to expat friends already in the region. And then there's the part about playing in empty stadiums in a league nobody cares about.
Scarlett being loaned to Oxford Utd for the season. Just promoted to the Championship, so as a team they could struggle. Character building! With him and Veliz both gone, guess this means Lankshear is the backup for Solanke/Richy.
They are called the Mighty Oxen - nice! Who else needs to go? Reguilon, Lo Celso, Solomon. Probably Donley and Devine on loan. Looks like Davies will stay and run out his contract, and Spence will get a chance to prove himself. What are we looking for? Still thin at the back, IMO. While it appears there is a lot of cover, it's due to having guys who can play multiple positions - Davies and VdV can play CB or LB, Gray can play midfield or RB, Spence can play RB or LB (less effectively). Get the "perfect storm" of injuries like last year, and you have guys playing out of position and no backups. Who or what would you go for? Seems like it would be difficult to get a CB, as we are pretty stacked there. Who would look at Romero, VdV and Dragusin and say, "I'll beat out two of those three and be a regular starter?" Only somebody that would cost a huge fee. We do need somebody, though, if Ashley Phillips isn't going to be kept around, else there is a real possibility of Davies playing a lot at CB. At FB, I think the left side should be the priority - Davies and Spence don't excite me as backups, and VdV should only play there in an emergency. I think we need one more attacking option, as well. Still time to get deals done, but get the right players, not just warm bodies.
Last season we needed to bolster at CB and we didn't do it. Result: it cost us the CL This season we needed to bolster at RB and LB and didn't do it. We needed to add an impact player, someone like Eze, and we didn't do it. But hey, we did get permission from Haringey council to add 16 events at the stadium. But hey, we are going to build a hotel on the site, yipee. Every season it's the same, one step forward and two steps back, while You-Know-Who and the rest of the board continue to line their pockets.
When you miss 4th place by 2 points, you can point at anything and say it cost us the CL. Stupid red cards, for example. I think Ange and the new recruitment team are doing the right things, but it won't all happen at once.
So many players have been mentioned that I don't know where to begin. Now maybe a player from Bayern who can play out wide but I still think we need another attacking option and hoping Spence proves you wrong, not maliciously mind. Agree Reguilon has to go as does Alfie Whiteman.
Lordy, man, you'll hit Levy with any stick you can find - even if it's just a twig. Last summer, at CB, we replaced Sanchez and Dier with Van de Ven and Dragusin. But, yeah, if he'd been less focused on his personal wealth, we'd've seen real upgrades.
Not talking about CB, talking about the fullback positions. And last season at this time I said as soon as Romero or VdV get injured or suspended, we're screwed, because we didn't sign another CB at the time. That ain't no twig my friends, that was a big branch that fell through our front window.
Going into the window, I figured we needed two fullbacks because Davies and Spence would be sold. Now that they are sticking around for another year, at least, it doesn't seem so urgent. I do think we need a new LB, as I said above, especially if the plan is for Davies to be a CB. Unless you count Gray, we haven't added any defenders, so definitely still work to be done and 2 weeks to get it done. Also in the news today, Donley is going on a season long loan to Leyton Orient. Sounds like they really need him, so he should get a lot of playing time.
Out of seemingly nowhere, we’ve signed Odobert from Burnley. A French winger who only signed for them last year. We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement for the permanent transfer of Wilson Odobert from Burnley, subject to formalities ✍️— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) August 16, 2024
Notorious cheapskate Daniel Levy found 25 million pounds behind his sofa cushions! I never heard of this guy, how about you? I like the youth movement. Now a defender, please.
31.5 million for a player who scored 4 goals in 32 appearances last season. With the money we've wasted on him and Johnson we could easily have met Eze's release fee.
Dribbling is the word to describe our transfer policy. We have a team of dribblers who don't score and don't assist. If we were playing the Harlem Globetrotters, we'd have half a chance.
We need a productive, impact player in midfield if we want to go to the next level. Here is what our midfielders did last season: Kulusevski: 36P, 8G, 3A Johnson: 32P, 5G, 10A Maddison: 28P, 4G, 9A Matar Sarr: 34P, 3G, 3A Lo Celso: 22P, 2G, 2A Werner: 13P, 2G, 3A Bentancur: 23P, 1G, 1A Skipp: 21P, 0G, 0A Bissouma, 28P, 0G, 0A Gil: 11P, 0G, 0A Solomon: 5P, 0G, 2A I mean, would any of the teams above us in the table want any of these players? This is what we have done year after year under Levy - waste money on unproductive midfielders, instead of strengthening our defense or adding an impact midfielder.
Gil, Solomon and Lo Celso are on the way out. Other teams would want Kulu and Bentancur, possibly Maddison. Barcelona wanted Bergvall. Other teams probably would take Gray. You're shitting on guys who haven't even played for us yet.
It's what he does. He's like Pavlov's dog. He hears the bell and starts bitching about Levy. It's a conditioned response. He can't help it.
According to The Star (Sheffield newspaper), Wednesday are in for our Alfie Devine. Apparently we're open to a loan deal. In the past, Hillsborough hasn't tended to do much for the development of our (or anyone else's loanees), but Danny Rohl is different gravy. He brought in a handful of loans last January, and almost of of them worked out well. I wouldn't be at all disappointed with that.
I am surprised you even know about Pavlov's experiments, let alone how to work it into an analogy. Bravo.
