I never heard him say that he had intention of leaving the NT after the Euro... until Deco took his place. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I just don't recall it.

He was asked about it, and said he would "probably" retire after the Euro. I don't think he was sure at that point yet. Deco or no Deco, he still had a better attitude about it than Mr. Figo. Figo is like a young girl plucking a flower. I play, I play not. :D

It's possible that Petit can move from Benfica in the summer if his contract isn't extended. A Bola says Dinamo Moscow and Marseille are looking at him.

Hugo Viana to AC Milan??? (Sunday Mirror )

    MILAN CHASE VIANA

    Mar 20 2005

    By Brian Mcnally

SERIE A giants AC Milan want to take Newcastle outcast Hugo Viana to the San Siro.

The 22-year-old playmaker is on loan at Sporting Lisbon, who meet the Toon next month in the UEFA Cup quarter-final, and would like to stay in Portugal.

But, while there is interest from Sporting, Porto and Benfica, none of them can match Newcastle's £5million asking price.

Milan were interested in the Portuguese international before Sir Bobby Robson paid Sporting £8.5million in 2002 - and have tracked his progress ever since.

Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd said: "Viana has done very well since his move back to Sporting and there is interest in him.

"He may not have been suited to the style of play in the Premiership, but he is still a quality player.

"We paid a big price for him and we won't let him go cheaply."

    Porto
Boavista right back Nelson going to FC Porto? (speculation)

Boavista has just signed Manuel José, from Setubal.

Manuel José has done most (all) formation in fc porto, ended contract last season, and it is well known that porto had the option to get him back if they were so inclined. Therefore porto did not exert their right to sign him, despite a very good season in Setubal.

Could it (the right to sign him) have been traded with an option for "Green Cape" (Cabo Verde, is it written like that?) right back Nelson, (21 years old, excellent technique, almost as good on the left as on the right), one of the hottest Boavista players (already linked with PSG, Monaco, Benfica, etc)?

    Just a thought. Cheers.

It increasingly looks like Pauleta will be leaving PSG at the end of this season. His agent says so far no Portuguese clubs have contacted him but he has not ruled out the possiblity of him returning to Portugal. Turkish, Spanish and English clubs are apparently interested.

He would be, but I don't think his game has hit such a low point of his career, that he needs to go to such a lesser league. There will be plenty of European Clubs interested.

He is a very dissapointing player. He does not score goals and not much happens when he is in the striker postion.

Very true, it's a position in which no-one has really been able to get a grasp on...
