Who will come in? Who will go out?

Previously i would have said that Poyet would leave, but he's doing a coaching badge. So until a job comes up, i doubt he'd go.

Anderton? Perhaps, but the goals recently would suggest no.

Blondel on loan to Mouscron i think.

Coming in? Well, £5-8m is the rumoured amount of spare cash.

So, that's not enough for Parker and Konchesky just yet.

Might be enough for Diego, but then again, perhaps not. Maybe something nearer 7 is a better guess, but Santos did say the offer is tempting.

Pizarro? Well he is £3m rated, so that'd be good. Not really sure of how good he is, but he has interested a few clubs.

Perhaps some unknown youngsters, lower league players with potential? I don't know!

However, here's the fun part. If it was you, with said £5-8m in the bank (before sales) to spend on 3 players.. who would it be?

My choices: Out: Doherty, Taricco, Anderton, Bunje, Acimovic, Poyet = £4m?

Add that 4 to the £8m and there's £12m to spend. That's much more fun.

    van Bommel £7m
    Konchesky £2m

    = £9m*

*of course, we all know that transfer fees are paid in stages. So we can really go a bit more than £12m.

In that case, Diego for £6.5m (in the summer if need be) and a keeper, for however much Brentford or Leeds or whoever say.

Other outgoings for me, would include: Jamie Redknapp and Ziege (through retirement probably) and even Dean Richards.

Too much dead wood to play with in the side, too many "passengers" being carried by the likes of King, Gardner, Davies (when fit), Carr, Keane, Kanoute.

There are plenty of players bought by other managers that wouldn't get into very many sides in this league.

Judging from the speculation it looks definite that Pleat is going to sign a defensive midfielder in January and has been given a reasonable amount of cash for that. It's obvious we need one and I think Levy knows it as well, apparently him and Pleat both queried Hoddle about this in the summer.

He also seems to be looking at someone to play wide left and possibly also an attacking midfielder. A goalkeeper is also on the cards if a good one is available and reasonably priced. There seems to be money for an attacking midfielder if he's a top player, but the other two positions will be cut-price, hence the trials.

The Berkovic link is something I've read before, I reckon he might be someone Pleat will have down to get if he can be had for cheap and we can't get someone else like Pizarro or Diego.

    Hehe.

He has good skills though, a decent playmaker or at least he was before the last 12 months when things seem to have fallen apart for him. But he's not someone we need and I think it's just a long running story, probably kicked up by his agent.

What we need: A D-Mid and a Playmaker

What we'll get: Something we don't need.

Spurs are pleased to announce the signing of Terry Curtin.

    LONDON (Reuters)

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they have indeed signed Terry Curtin to a club-record 14m Pounds.

Curtin, of course, is a world-famous food stand vendor that has worked for the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid, and has welcomed the challenge of coming back to London again. He started his famed career off at Palace, and the rest is history.

"I'm really looking foward to the challenge. I'll leave the Nou Camp with a lump in my throat, but I know what I'm doing is right"-Curtin

Errrr.....what I meant to say is that we'll sign somebody stupid.

14 million is a lot, but as long as his culinary repertoire stretches beyond pie and mash, I'll be happy.

I would love to see some of these guys leave, Anderton and Poyet for example and bring in Van Bommel, Diego and Pizarro and then get a decent backup for Keller is all I really ask, one more defender to replace Carr would also be nice but maybe that would have to happen in the summer.
