Even though the Monaco mid is linked with AC Milan, we are rumored to be interested. Fofana

Also, Verrman, Hjulmand, are other names.

The Athletic (Whiwell) is reporting that we are now looking at Burnley's Sander Berge after moving on from Ugarte.

Do not know much about him

Had similar question when I saw the reports earlier, so watched this which was informative.

Seems that with no sales on Cas, McT etc we have to drop budget which means necessary compromise.

TLDR, he cant do the lone #6 apparently but his scanning and range of passing are decent (which puts him far ahead of McT as a pivot) and he doesnt have the mobility issues of Cas and Amrabat.

So could make a decent deeper partner to Mainoo if the price is right.

exactly as i said all along. dude is in his last year and has cooled off significantly. at his peak scoring doubles against Spain he earned ONE bid of £30m.

asking Fulham who just signed a club record midfielder and already had at least two better midfielders to bid anything much more than £17m-£20m was folly.

i had hoped the club was more realistic than the fans but it seems not

I think it's worse than that, I think the manager AND the management like McT. They don't view failing to offload him as a failure, more of a "if we don't get this price, we keep him". The only thing I'm hoping to avoid at this point is giving him a new contract.

Bayern have reportedly negotiated Leverkusen down to €25+5m for Jonathan Tah but is dependent on them flipping De Ligt to us. Yet they are digging in on €50m for De Ligt to us (which we cannot afford).

Bayern have also increased the price for Mazraoui to us by €6m above the fee they agreed with West Ham.

PSG closed Neves so need to flip Ugarte but are holding out for unrealistic fee.

Thanks to Glazers, Woodward, Murtough etc we still have the stink of “easy mark” hanging around us which will take a while to go if we dont cave.

Given we are getting nowhere on sales (owing to stupid wages - again effed by previous administration) we either need to go for cheaper alternatives or might have to hold our nerve and do these deals end of the window when Bayern / PSG may get more desperate / realistic (as we just dont have the money / wiggle room on psr).

FDJ rumors are back, he is on 600k and willing to take a pay cup but how much we have no idea. United not willing to pay over £35million.

Tim Vickery [yeah, South American Futbol expert] says we are definitely interested in Andre from Fluminese. Liverpool were alleged to have agreed a deal for him before he got injured. Not sure if Endo stopped their purchase.

Not fond of him due to high wages, even if we half the wages Barca are paying it would put him in a top earners bracket. Bruno is 240k/pw, case is 350k/pw (desperate to offload). If we want to move forward from past blunders we must move on from FDJ, may hinder our progress but might be the best course.

As per Romano, Liverpool confident to get him.

the one thing we shouldn't do is sign Sander Berge. i don't think the links are real but that guy excels at precisely nothing and we already have that in Mount so no thanks

Talk of fdj is dumb. Hes at a top club in the world making Saudi money and living in one of the best locations in Europe. He’s never coming to Manchester, even when his contract expires.

Triggering contract extensions January for Lindelof and AWB is starting to look stupid (which Ineos must have agreed to given they were involved back then).

The idea was to get something back for them by selling this summer, however their wages (£6.2M pa / £120K pw Lindelof and £4.6M pa / £90K pw AWB) causing issues along with them forgoing the signing on fee they would get by being a free agent.

Hopefully they learn their lesson and don't extend Maguire (£9.8Mpa / £190Kpw) next January to June 2026 and just let his contract run out June 2025.

Reported that Leverkusen have given Bayern an ultimatum on Jonathan Tah - they will not sell after this weekend.

In response reportedly Bayern have pulled out and taken De Ligt off the market.

So feels like we are approaching crunch time on this transfer chain either happening or not.

In other news reported that De Ligt needs to talk to police over a hit and run on a parked car.

Maybe the frustration at this stupid situation getting to him too ;)

As soon as authorised to travel is odd wording - maybe the police / parked car thing?

I really want Ugarte. More than Mazraoui, maybe more than DeLigt even.

Agree - am sure there will have been a pay-off to compensate him for both lower wages in final year and no signing on fee.

Key test to see if different will also be if they let Eriksen, Lindelof & Maguire walk next year without extending.
