Fabio Capello: "Having only spent €7-8 million, Roma's transfer window was worthy of a team aiming for the Scudetto." https://t.co/dQrA3QUdQn— RomaPress (@ASRomaPress) September 10, 2022
3 milion a year for this clown? Roma close in on agreement for Bryan Cristante's renewal https://t.co/cdV0vpCRG7— RomaPress (@ASRomaPress) September 22, 2022
i remember some roma fans on here shitting on me when they signed him. like he was the second coming of pirlo
I remember posting here the day we signed Cristante that he seemed pretty good around the area in attack, strong and consistent shooting on goal from around the area and, especially, excellent directing headers. However, that he wasn't really that great in terms of touch, dribbling etc. . . I wondered why in the world we were buying a pretty solid but unspectacular Attacking midfielder when we needed a defensive midfielder. Years and three diverse managers who seem to love him later I still don't feel much differently. However, I do think he's on the shit list of so many fans that he can make 1 mistake and then Matic among others can make the same mistake twice and all you read about is the Cristante mistake.
It's obvious what he brings to the group in terms of his work rate and attitude. He is a willing soldier and I bet he is the guy like Strootman was in training pushing others on. Managers love these players as they are good for the group moral. We can see his ability when on the rare occasions he gets close to the box to show what he can actually do. His shooting from range and the clean powerful strike he gets in the ball puts Pellegrini to shame. It's just due to Monchi's bad planning there was never any reason to buy him for that spot and in many seasons now, hes only got one start in that position that I remember. The Monchi disaster plan, buying pieces and hoping it fitted together somehow. I think he could flourish yet in his career for a team who uses him in the right system because there is a good player there. From a managers pov he brings more overall to the whole than his issues playing the ball out in tight spaces but if results are still patchy as the season goes on, then I think Jose will have to reconsider him being a consistent starter. Unless the guy beside him is someone who can take control of play, it's just not going to get any prettier in here. This area of the pitch is the key for Roma to be ok plodding along or this group really surprising people.
Cristante isn’t a bad player. He’s just not been played in a proper role the entire time he’s been here. He’s one of the best long range passers on the team and is excellent shooting outside of the box. Unfortunately he’s rarely in position to utilize either of those. Usually an attack dies before he has a chance to reach the box and most of his passing is pretty short range with his role.
Official, confirmed. Kostas Manolas joins Sharjah FC on permanent deal from Olympiacos, he's now gonna play in UAE Pro League together with Miralem Pjanic. 🇦🇪🤝 #transfers Manolas has completed medical tests and signed deal valid until June 2024 with an option for further year. pic.twitter.com/tGJxQcyZia— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) September 23, 2022
Cristante was excellent in Italy's wins this past week over England and Hungary this past week. But, like you said, playing in a midfield three where he was responsible for a lot less ground defensively and much freer to get forward.
He is already on his way back to greece: pic.twitter.com/fk9PrdTL1M— Out Of Context Football (@nocontextfooty) September 27, 2022
With his performances, no way Chelsea is using the clause. So we end up paying 40m. Tammy Abraham on Chelsea's buy-back clause: “I’m happy with Roma and I’m focused on my job here. The team is good. The manager is good. The city, the fans, I'm happy. Only God knows the future”. 🔵 #CFC @ojbsportsChelsea buy back clause will be valid from July for €80m. pic.twitter.com/kl6cgEfmVf— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) October 7, 2022
Bryan Cristante a step away from renewing Roma contract https://t.co/HDRIMOOQJB— RomaPress (@ASRomaPress) October 10, 2022 Cristante being at this club for potentially 9 years is a sick joke.
His pass at 0.30 secs is why you sign him for 9 years. Show me another player with those skills to literally invent new passing techniques and in a derby. That takes balls! Fcuk you haters.
I still cannot believe what Monchi has done to Sevilla. In one summer, he took a top-four team and turned it into a mid-table/close to relegation one. That by getting huge influx of money by selling Koundé & Carlos at premium price.— Loconté (@Loconteee) October 18, 2022 Meanwhile in Seville. @LordNelson
