Makes sense that we didn't go after Pubill then if that is the case.

Bove to Fiorentina should've been a dry loan without option to buy. Again bad business imo.
We were very close to a perfect mercato but now I have mixed feelings. Bad luck too (Danso..)

He’ll go to Juve in a couple years while Roma are still playing Cristante and Pellegrini and wondering why the midfield is so bad. I said last summer he and the other kids would all be sold off, and here we are. Unfortunately the financial rules highly incentivize selling homegrown players.

We won the first half of this market 2-0.....then conceded two late ones for a draw. Hopefully Kone proves a good pick up (if it goes through).

I read that Danso was going to Napoli last summer and everything was all but done, then Napoli mysteriously backed out of the deal saying Lens were asking too much… interesting

It’s official, Milan pay 1.5 million for Tammy’s loan, Saladmaker comes on a free loan (so Milan are basically paying his salary as well with the money for Tammy), not ideal but we need a left winger and we don’t need Tammy

Apparently Kone is done, deal for Djalo is off, and we're looking at Maro Hermoso for free.

Djalo returns to Juventus. Bade likely to stay at Sevilla.

We'll never get an answer on Bove. This club is so fcuking annoying.

    In:
    Buba Sangaré
    Enzo Le Fée
    Mathew Ryan
    Samuel Dahl
    Matías Soulé
    Artem Dovbyk
    Saud Abdulhamid
    Alexis Saelemaekers
    Manu Koné

One defender on free still expected to come (Hummels or Hermoso)

    Out:
    Rui Patrício
    Leonardo Spinazzola
    Andrea Belotti
    Houssem Aouar
    Rick Karsdorp
    Tammy Abraham
    Edoardo Bove

Dybala taking so long to make a decision hurt us, because him leaving could have funded the rest of the mercato. Closing Danso, and selling Cristante instead of Bove would have made this almost perfect.

    Dovbyk
    Saelemaekers - Dybala - Soule
    Le Fee - Kone
    Angelino - Ndicka - Mancini - Saud

We are trying to sign Hermoso and send Smalling to the Saudi league and get Hummels as well. I like that.

They would be great pick ups now we lost Danso

Hermoso always plays in a back 3 though

On paper, a good solid unspectacular market. Roma got younger and faster while cutting the wage bill. The roster overhaul needed to get younger and more athletic was never going to get done in one market. Hopefully we see some improvement on the field.

If we bring in Hermoso and Hummels we can chalk it down to a 2-1 win instead I would say.

Failing to sell Tammy (predictably) and letting Bove leave are the failures.

I think the reality is that Tammy had no market and Bove was the only midfielder with a market

I liked Bove but getting Kone in is a massive leap in quality and Bove probably wasn’t going to play much, I just hope they have a sell on clause for Bove

Mancini, Ndicka, Hermoso and Hummels wouldn't be bad.

Overall I think the team is stronger, but weirdly I’m more pessimistic at getting CL this season. Roma had everything going for them last season with the extra CL spots, Atalanta having a slow start, and Napoli, Juve and Lazio all having bad years.

This year Napoli have no European games to worry about. Juve look significantly stronger. Atalanta have a very deep squad and I think will handle the mid week games well. And getting the 5th spot will be harder this year with how points are weighed based on number of teams. If Bologna and Lazio get eliminated right away that will be a big blow. The bottom half of the table is also looking quite strong this year.

Unfortunately I think it’s another year of trying win Europa League to get Champions League.

Tammy got an assist on his debut and Lukaku scored on his debut with an assist from Spina
