I agree, surely Dybala would start plenty of games this season given the schedule... like think how much we needed someone like Soule last season to lighten the load on Dybala, especially when Roma were in the thick of it after the winter break

There's too much analysis of DDR's choices in the media atm, he needs to be left to try and build the team the way he sees it, have room to make some mistakes and learn some lessons... he learned a fair few last season, I remember him trying to use the 352 to start a few games but he stopped when he could see it wasn't working

Yeah and he already said in his first presser that the two are compatible

This guy is saying it’s more likely Dybala will stay now, he explains in another tweet that the slowness of the market is Ghisolfi starting in July and needing to build a network of contacts in Italy separate from his French network. He says Ghisolfi is confident someone will still leave before the end of the window which will free space for signings—which makes sense given the Assignon deal is all but completed, they just need to make room for his salary

The ever so reliable Biafora says Dybala has reached an agreement with the Saudi club and he has asked Roma to start negotiating his sale.

    Yeah it's over. Goodbye Paulo.

There is plenty of work left for Ghisolfi.

Only expected Dybala to stay a year originally, so can’t complain too much when he stayed two. When you factor in taxes he’s probably going to end up making more in 3 years than all his past salaries combined.

He's going to sit on Barcelona's bench.

Surprised there’s no Cherki links. Can play left wing or as a 10. Linked with Fulham for only £12 million at the moment and only has one year left on his contract.

Given his age and asking price it seems like someone Roma should be all over

RB - Assignon &/or Abdulhamid looks very likely once Dybala leaves.
CB - doubtful, Danso (the current name being linked, there was also Badé & Theate earlier in the market).
Midfielder -Koné recently, though looks to be dependent on whether Bove (or Cristante) is sold.
LW - Boga, Ngonge, Fernandez-Pardo, all unlikely, Chiesa - definitely very unlikely
    Dybala replacement - Soulé

How many are already lined up waiting for cash of Dybala..Maybe 3...They need to fulfil or the fans will have a full on meltdown.

Wont be the same without Paolo, his style of play is among a small select of unique players left in the game. It was nice to have him for 2 years but still bittersweet to see him go. If hes still knocking about at 34 or 35 after this contract is up, we can dream or him returning as a super sub.

Dybala felt ‘lack of faith’ at Roma
Someone who knows him well, former agent Claudio Anellucci, told TMW Radio what is going through Dybala’s mind.

“He is a lad who needs to feel himself at the centre of everything that goes on around him. As soon as he feels there is a lack of faith, you lose 50 per cent of Dybala as a man and a player.

“Evidently, he went to a meeting with the coach and realised he could not be Dybala at 100 per cent. So he preferred to go and earn a load of money rather than remain just to be any old player.

Of course you wouldnt fully understand. Dybala is a throw back player, sadly a dying breed of player you dont try and control by pigeon holing him on the pitch. You build the team around a genius, you dont try to force him into your "system". This is being lost in football today and its making the game very stale to watch. Every 2nd rate coach thinks they're Pep. I found it ironic it was Jose off all people that allowed him to express himself. 15 years ago this would have never happened.

So you are dunking on DDR and not a player who doesn’t want to play for a team that isn’t centered around him ? I didn’t know Dybala thought of himself so highly. He is a great player but he isn’t Messi or Baggio, nor Totti.

Its time to move on, good to fund on other reinforcement.
It is only the truth in his 30s, with his injuries, building the team around him is stupid.
    Thanks for the memories.

In not going at DDR individually but more a general observation of were football has went in the past 15 years. From what I understand of DDR he is heavily influenced by Luis Enrique and depending on how far he goes with his tactics, well I cant say one way or the other 100% yet, he has to show us what hes really all about.
Theres also a push back occurring in football right now which has the potential to kick on and bring back variety to the game again. If you want to read on what Im talking about, read up on (Relationism vs. Positionism football)

If Dybala was on the level of the players I just listed I would fully agree with you. I personally think he needs to humble himself. At the end of the day it’s all about the money and he is trying to play it off as “they don’t see me as important”

Roma would have been big time challengers for the scudetto this year if he stayed. Hell Soule wanted to play with the guy and he goes off bag chasing.

Has these big squad shake ups ever worked well? Usually end up with one or two decent players and a bunch you can’t get rid of.

I get they need CL as quick as possible with how much the club is bleeding money, but I feel like a 3 year plan of just adding 2-3 solid players every year will work out a lot better in the long run. Even if results aren’t the best the first year or two.
