The Fenerbahce candidate that promised to buy Luis Suarez lost the election and the deal for now is off. However I wonder if this is the last we hear of Suarez leaving this summer.
85m pound price tag set by relegated West Ham to sell Mateus Fernandes... Do we at least have a sell on clause?
New transfer rumor for our midfield. According to Footy-Africa, Sporting is among the clubs highly interested in 22-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Mawuli Mensah, who just finished his spell with Real Zaragoza. He looks like a solid prospect with good potential for the future.
Sounds like we are going to sign Altimira from Betis for around 20 mil with bonuses…..Palhinha seems to be out of our reach and will head back to EPL?
Looks like our next transfer is complete, Record and A Bola reporting that we've reached an agreement to transfer Sergi Altamira, 24 year old Spanish midfielder from Betis, for 18m + 2m in objectives. We beat RB Leipzig to his signing according to the reports.
I’m not familiar with this player but lots of people on the Sporting forum are saying he wasn’t even a starter at Betis at 24 years old so why are we paying top dollar for him??
Hjulmand started 34 games for Lecce in his last season in Serie A and 36 the season before in Serie B, sounds like a starter to me. Either way, we seem to be on a pretty solid run of defensive midfielder signings, I got faith in this one, even if he isn't a starter. Only slightly disappointed as it likely means no Palhinha.
Yeah one was at relegation threatened Lecce and the other at European regular Betis. We've seen players flop elsewhere and be beasts in Portugal. Hope it works out. As for Palhinha, it would be nice but I doubt he'd be cheap
Inácio to Milan rumours. Of course it could be because Amorim is there 🚨🔴⚫️ Gonçalo Inacio, one of three main options on AC Milan list for centre back position.Internal talks taking place about targets as Amorim wants a new CB.Inácio, appreciated but not easy as key player for Sporting + two more names on list.🎥🇮🇹 https://t.co/kKKuWHHKF6 pic.twitter.com/lkWWXTBZGh— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 30, 2026
Hjulmand has a deal in principle with Atletico Madrid, with Sporting now expected to receive a bid. Apparently we want negotiations to start at 40M
Official: Sergi Altimira signs until 2031 from Betis and is our 5th signing for the season. Also Spurs set to sign Mateus Fernandes for 100m euros! Crazy inflated price but We'll be getting around 3.5m for that.
Trincao to Al Ahli for 50mil is the new rumour Sad to see him go a he's been key the last few years, but that's a big profit and he's served us well.
Trincao has been great for us and to me he's always been a top three player virtually every season. But I'm going to be devil's advocate here and just call out the fact that this guy does not show up in big games. And he goes through way too many spells of inconsistency. His best attribute is his availability.
Definitely periods of inconsistency but overall he was a key factor in winning important titles for us, so I'm sad to see him go. Let's see if we replace anyone or is it going to be Zalazar/Pote
Might only have one Portuguese player starting this year. always liked Trincao, but seems like a good time to part ways. Not much more he can accomplish here. Might finally get some playing time for Portugal now that he’s in SA too.
I'm just worried too many key players are leaving. We've made good signings on paper but as we know not every signing is 100% a success.
Key players? Key to what? Shitting the bed against a 2nd division team in the Taça Final? Most the dudes have overstayed their welcome. Time to go.
Maintaining CL qualification is the key one to me. I know it's not romantic, but the financial implications are huge. Dropping out of it (especially with a team that isn't certain of recovering it the next year) is the biggest risk
