Not sure I buy it entirely either, but it is odd he sat out

Record reports Trincao gets a 3 year contract extension. We paid 7m for 50% when we bought him, then another 11m last year for the other 50%. He remains with a 60m euro release clause.

Official: Matheus Reis joins CSKA Moscow.

Cost us 500k and have us 5 years of blood and sweat. At times he was even our best defender, and helped us win multiple titles.

    Definitely to be remembered fondly.

Bit iffy about backup options on the left though now. As I trust him there more than Mangas

With the season coming to an end the rumours begin again.

Record has us in the lead for Zalazar from Braga for an estimated 30m euros.

Also we are apparently negotiating for Pedro Lima from AFS for around 3.5m

There have also been rumours of an interest in bringing Palhinha back on loan (currently at Tottenham on loan)

All this to cover for the expected departures of Morita and Hjulmand.

A Bola says Zalazar to Sporting from Braga is a done deal for 30M, and part of the transfer plan to invest in players already playing in Portugal.

In the same article they are saying Diogo Travassos could be going to Braga for 6-7m, with objectives up to 10m.

Honestly I'd give Travassos a chance and send Vagiannidis, but this is a heavy investment in probably the best player outside the big 3.

30 mil for a 27 year old playing in Portugal + giving up our best young prospect. Hell ya. This is the Sporting I grew up with.

I agree it's a lot of money but in the last few years we've had success paying $$$ for domestic talent (Pote, Ugarte) even though they were younger. Looks like Benfica is chasing him too so for all we know it's not a done deal. But he has been by far Braga's best player in a season they reached a European semifinal.

Maybe all this talk can motivate him to beat Benfica today so we can go back to 2nd. :D

Zalazar is ********in legit. I don't care about dropping 30 million on him. But I do care about selling Travassos for peanuts. This administration has learned nothing from the Matheus Fernandes and Alfonso Moreira debacles.

Agreed, Zalazar would be a clear upgrade in our attack. But Travassos over Vagiannidis any day

Zalazar would come in for a position that we aren’t really that desperate for and we would give up our best young prospect who plays a position that we are desperate for.

This plus the fact that we would now have spent 60mil on two players that we wouldn’t see a return on are tough. And he is another very injury prone player.

I’d still 100% take this over the yeremay to Kevin to Jota to mangas pipeline that happened last year

Travassos doesn't play as a RB at Moreirense and there's no guarantee he'd be playing RW here. But agree with what you're saying for the most part

I have a feeling we might see Trincao leave. But if not, it's a solid first team player who can play any of the front positions supporting the striker.

Would like to see Travassos in the squad however. Maybe we'll have a buy back clause.

    Latest rumours:

    - Record: Newcastle wants Luis Suarez for their attack next season. He has an 80M release clause. Would you guys sell and for how much? Lets say Newcastle comes with 60M for a 28 year old, almost 29... I think we can't refuse.

    - A Bola: Leeds is getting closer to signing Morita on a free transfer and play in the Premier League next season.

Yes we would need to take a very hard look as we are not a team that can hold a 28 year old when an offer of 50 mil+ is on the table IMHO...

And lets be honest the player would not be a happy camper as Im sure it would be a huge pay raise

Travassos going the other way for 5.5mil

gotta hand it to Antonio Salvador, gets Sporting every single time.

Sportings last three academy sales are Diogo for 5.5, Moreira for 2 and Fernandes for 15. I’ve defended Varandas through a lot of bs, but this is getting crazy.

Only recent positive ones I can think of were Essugo and primarily Quenda.

Financially we never win with Braga, they always demand a lot. Let's hope he delivers performance wise, like Suarez has.

A Bola saying Geny has interest from Como and Al Ittihad

Seems pretty unlikely Palhinha doesn’t stay at Tottenham, wouldn’t say no to him though.

Apparently Gustavo Sa is a big Porto guy and doesn’t want to go anywhere else. And Porto seems to be pretty keen to ruin Moras career for whatever reason, so I bet that’s where he goes.

I think we'll see an official announcement after the Gil game tomorrow once we confirm which place we finish
