Gyokeres with a short sentence on instagram: Fabrizio Romano posted that this is a response to Varandas... when nothing says that this is the case, the player could mean what the media is reporting is false. These freaking agents just using Romano as a mouthpiece to force their objectives
It's being reported that Gyokeres doesn't want United and prefers Arsenal, but Arsenal have also moved on as they feel the 80m total fee we are asking for is too high. What's funny is they'll gladly spend 75m euros for Matheus Cunha or 120m for Declan Rice. But 80m for the top striker in Europe behind Mbappe is too much. I still think a Chelsea or PSG will swoop in quickly with a bid that matches our valuation. There's interest from Juventus who have him as their dream target, but I think that's less likely.
Looks like Afonso Moreira is being sold to Lyon, would have preferred to give him some chances after recovering from his injuries than bother with Biel
Crystal palace have opened talks to sign Ousmane Diomande. Rumour started with the BBC and now Fabrizio Romano tweeted about it. He has an 80m euro clause I believe, so let's see what we demand for him
What's the minimum we'd be happy to let him go for? Don't want to let anyone get more bargains after Chelsea's deals
He has an 80m clause and Crystal palace I doubt will go near that. They are about to sell Marc Guehi to Liverpool which will probably fund the Diomande bid. I'd say 60m we'd probably accept for a relatively young CB outside the big 5 leagues.
It will be less than that let’s be honest. There’s no way on earth Palace are paying £51m. It’ll be €40m + 10 + 15/20% sell on clause
He's considered an important piece of the puzzle for next season, Palace will need to pay up if they want him. Record says we won't accept anything less than 60m for him. He's definitely suited for the Premier League, they will pay ridiculous amounts for many other players with less quality
Kovacevic close to joining Norwich on a permanent deal worth around 2.5m + add-ons. He cost us 4.5m a year ago
🚨🟢⚪️ EXCLUSIVE: Sporting CP want Luis Javier Suárez from Almeria as new striker when Gyökeres leaves the club. The Colombian striker is the priority target, top of the short list. 🇨🇴 pic.twitter.com/pKuhMCExXh— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 25, 2025
Official arrivals and exits (so far) Arrivals: Giorgi Kochorashvili - bought for 5.5m euros Alisson Santos - bought for 2.1M euros Departures: Dario Essugo - 22.27M euros to Chelsea Marcus Edwards - 10m euros to Burnley Vladan Kovacevic - 2.5m euros to Norwich Koba Koindredi - loan to Basel
Varandas comes out with another banger: Gyökeres "Sporting is calm about this issue. Secondly, Sporting does not need to sell Viktor Gyökeres. Fortunately, we have already passed the stage of selling our main asset. But we are still sensitive to the dreams of Viktor or any other player. Sporting has a commitment that, after weeks of meetings, it will not ask for the value of the clause, it will be reasonable in relation to the value requested by Viktor. Today there is a strong possibility that he will leave. In the last few weeks we have been paying attention. I saw a player, Zubimendi, who is 6 months younger than Viktor, leave for 65 million; I saw Matheus Cunha go to Manchester United, for values in the order of 75 million euros. We are talking about players who are 26 years old. I believe that Viktor can leave, unless he has the worst agent in the world, which I do not believe, because he is one of the best footballers in the world." Don't you give up the 80 million? I'm not going to say what the value is, the player knows what it is. I can say that Viktor won't leave for 60+10. He won't leave, he absolutely won't leave. Did you talk to the player? "Viktor already knows, his agent knows too, what I want is for Sporting fans to know and to make the most of the summer, to be calm because there are only two scenarios: first, a club respects Viktor's fair market value - not the termination value, Sporting gives in on that - and from that moment on we will be fully prepared to attack the target. In a second scenario, that club doesn't want Viktor, Viktor doesn't want any other project, he has a three-year contract and stays at Sporting. We will be very, very happy." Does it cross your mind that he won't show up? "I've been at Sporting for 20 years, I've been through a lot of transfer dramas, this is a soap opera. The transfer window is a cure for all ills, so players who are unhappy are not a problem at this stage. If Viktor stays, he has a three-year contract, we'll be very happy."
A Bola reporting Crystal Palace is close to a deal to sign Diomande for a total package of 55m. We are looking to include a sell on clause. Meanwhile, first day of preseason started today. New signings Alisson Santos and Kochorashvili were present. 11 international players will join later: Rui Silva, Franco Israel, Debast, Inácio, Maxi Araújo, Hjulmand, Pote, Quenda, Trincão, Harder and... Gyökeres.
55 mil for Diomande and people expect us to be happy and grateful to get 60 mil for Gyokeres Decent fee for someone who is, imo, our most overrated player
I think he has the physical attributes he just needs a more level head sometimes, I think he'll also get away with more in the Premier League as their more lenient with 'little' fouls But Record said Palace weren't going past 30m for him, so this rumour could be just as dead.
🚨💣 Arsenal are now getting closer to signing Viktor Gyökeres after new round of talks in recent hours.Gyökeres will NOT return for training at Sporting as he’s fully focused on leaving the club; Arsenal are now advancing.Nothing done yet but discussions underway. pic.twitter.com/4VV5mzMts9— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) July 6, 2025 Record reporting they improved their bid to 65+15, which matches the 80m we want. Varandas wants 70m fixed fee to agree to let him go, but it seems negotiations are getting more advanced as the player was authorized to only appear for preseason July 11.
Arsenal seems like the absolute worst fit for him, pretty funny that’s where he’s forcing his way to. All they do is play defensive and ping in crosses and Gyokeres can’t head the ball.
They made the semis of the CL and have been finishing 2nd for several seasons, and without a proper striker. His heading isn't his best attribute but I think he can definitely make the difference for them. Glad that this seems to be coming to an end now and not end of August. It looks like our target is Luis Suarez from Almeria. 28 years old, we've been linked with him for years. They want 25m but I don't think we'll pay anywhere near that. With Harder having a good debut season and still only 20, makes sense to have someone a bit more experienced. Curious to see if we stick with 343 or go to a 4231
Arouca set to sell former academy player Chico Lamba to St. Etienne for 8m euros. We hold 50%, so that's a cool 4m to us.
🚨🇸🇪 Viktor Gyökeres has accepted to give up €2m from his salary in order to facilitate negotiations between Arsenal and Sporting.Sporting insist on higher fee compared to Arsenal proposal……and Gyökeres tries his best also giving up money to make it happen, as per Record. pic.twitter.com/lVM6pGbq41— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) July 6, 2025 Broke up with his Portuguese actress GF, now giving up salary. All this to win the FA Cup
I would say, "Well it's life-changing money for him and his last chance at 27 years old" but if he's forfeiting salary then he truly comes off as super desperate. He and his agent are a match made in heaven apparently.
