Same here. What is this crap? They're probably afraid of us or something. With a world-class striker (Aside from Drogba, Zani.) we'd probably finally break through the Semis of the Champions League. Let's just buy someone from South America. Carlos Tevez has pretty nice stats on Championship Manager 5, and video-game makers are never wrong. :D

I honestly don't see a problem with the article. It sounds like the usual Madrid chatter. In fact, now that Madrid have denied Owen is leaving and denied that Chelsea have made an inquiry, I would say there is a 98% chance Owen will be a Blue next season. :D

I dont understand why we havent made an aggressive approach for Robinho. He has the same pace and build as Samuel Eto'o, with even better ball skills. If Jose was interested in Eto'o, he should be drooling all over Robonho, who scored 29 goals in Brazil last season. Most importantly, Santos is ready to trade the player - unlike Adriano (Inter), Shevschenko (Milan), Owen (Real), etc.

Robinho would also be a great foil to Drogba.

I’d love to have the little Brazilian but all the indications are that he is destined to go to Real, recently turning down the overtures of Mr.Wenger.

Mr.Wenger seemed confident on the work permit issue.

<o =""></o>On the plus side, if he does go to <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1 ="">Brazil</st1></st1:country-region> then perhaps Owen really is leaving the Bernie-Bayou?

Personally, I think Inter should just blooming well give us that Adriano lad.

Let's just say Dan Brown is writing a novel, they are the group that would not let us play in their reindeer games last year, turned Keynon's request for the club to join down.

How about we take Vieri for a year or two until Adriao is ready to sign for us?

I mean we wouldn’t pay a big fee for Vieri, just cover his wages for a season or two. He's better than Trez in a lot of ways and would cost us nowhere near the 30 million quid mark.

Chelsea are on the brink of making a £35m bid for in-form Parma striker Alberto Gilardino. (Sun)

Real Madrid tell Chelsea £17M for Owen
Chelsea have made an informal enquiry for Real Madrid striker Michael Owen.
The Daily Mail says representatives of the Premiership champions contacted Real on Monday to enquire about a price for the England striker.

While no bid was lodged, Chelsea were told that their £14million valuation Owen was £3m below the price Real would demand.

Owen had spent the previous day viewing a series of Surrey properties close to Chelsea's new training base at Cobham.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear with my question, I know who G14 are,(they're a boy band who sing classical music ;) ) I just wondered what they had to do with players and clubs turning down alledged offers from Chelsea...

I guess $17 mill for Owen is better than $35 mil for Gilardino. Bring Owen to the Bridge.

All the 'big' (ppfftt) clubs trying to keep CFC from signing a top striker, thus reducing our chances of making it to the champs' league final. Conspirasah!:D

I have a slight idea that tribal football is run by Miss Cleo and a 3 legged horse.

I can't for the life of me think of a reason why we wouldn't be jumping on this, if true.

I would imagine we are jumping. I mean, what is $17 mill for a top class striker, given his history in EPL. O yea, alomost forgot, ....and given our financial staus. ;)
