    Training Updates/pops 5/27/2004

Here's where you can update us on your training pops tonight.

Chris knows why I started this thread, I am expecting an awesome pop tonight.

If I get the pop tonight it will go right along with my 5,000 post celebration.

Seems to me there should be a title between 25 and 5000 posts. Odd.

no pops, I'm expecting 1-2 more pops before the season is over. Form though could be a problem, while most of my starters are still in good form, I have a few bench and friendly players who are suffering in bad form. I have a guy who is still injured for a few weeks, go up to excellent form, how do you explain that?

And Chris I agree, there should be another name, maybe something once someone would hit 1000 like I will do in a month or two :)

    That just isn't right!

Despite my newbie mistakes my guy got to pop to Magnificent. He has had his fair share of stamina and passing training too.

I believe the phrase you are looking for Mark is "You, sir, suck!" :D
No, seriously, that is cool. Lone Star, is he going to be in line for national team duty?

No pops (my two GKs are about 3 weeks away from popping to excellent), and form treated me ok (except for drops for my two new IMs from weak to poor. crap).

Got two IM's close to popping, but not yet...
My future coach and current backup defender popped to weak PM...
Form is still in the crapper, not to mention inhibited with the injuries I'm carrying.

I had an unexpected pop, as Huang Kien popped to magnificent keeper a week early (he's 20, but it only took five weeks instead of six as it had been).

This will leave me in a tight spot if I promote. I'd already decided that I would have to sell Kien to shore up my squad, but I'd be loathe to waste three weeks of training (assuming I would have to play a qualifier to promote). If I also trained keeper the one offseason week, I'd still need two weeks into the season to get Kien up to world class, and one or both might be games I'd need to win.

All of that said, at this point, I don't think I'll wind up promoting, so I won't have to worry about it.

That's a hope of mine, but the dude has no secondary skills to speak of.

It's survival of the fittest on the national scene. My top USA midfielder went titanic 2 weeks ago and won't even get a second look for the national team. He's gotten as many as 7 stars in a match.

Wow, that is scary. I wonder if i'll ever have a national team player. I guess maybe not for the US though. :(
