Your youngest daughter is a "dad joker"? You must have trained her well.

  2. Mmm, tell me how for instance Excelsior Rotterdam with 3 on the brink Orange Squad players, along with u23 Morocco, in one squad before these left for bigger clubs, was below mls clubs at that time?

Also a bit delusional if that person thinks we're only missing a CB.

A total "F" grade to the front office on this window.

We have to at least keep up with the other teams in the league. Maybe, "Maybe", their are extenuating circumstances, but right now I am giving the entire back office an "F". They have failed during this transfer window.

    Failed.

I’d say “incomplete” or “dropped” is more accurate.

Not so much about this year, which is a lost cause, but with Wilson returning next year I would argue that CB is one of our *least* positions of need, assuming Wilson doesn’t turn right around and get injured for a long time again.

We weren't good defensively when we had both (better but not good). Neither is a good 1v1 defender and they're both slow. They aren't great in the air either.

I argue a top CB is our most important need along with DM. Wilson is a serviceable backup though.

Rodrigues certainly isn’t slow and I would argue both are at least OK in the air. And Rodrigues is a little crazy but he is one of the best in the league with the ball at his feet, and helps quite a bit with our attack, which could use all the help it can get. And pragmatically speaking they were both signed to be starters and are signed thru next year, and are unlikely to be replaced. Bigger needs are forward, left side attacker and 6 / 8 CM.

The data shows pretty clearly why our GA is so bad this year. Our GK’s are a completely unheard of -16 xGA-GA. That would likely smash all records in MLS history not to mention possibly the history of D1 soccer worldwide. That’s how shockingly bad that is.

And hey aren’t you the guy who insisted in 2021 that Tanner Beason was the key to solving our defensive woes?

Maybe. A stopped clock is wrong mostly.

He can play on the left or right and is more a winger like Espinoza.

The supposed Quakes interest could also just be that report from the off season being regurgitated... in fact it probably is.

We need to find a good CB. Rodriguez isnt even in the discussion with Murillo, Glesnes, Long, Zimmerman, Ream, Yoshida, The Seattle 3, etc

Speaking of the Seattle 3, I notice Nathan is a complete non-contributor for Seattle (76 minutes on the season). Unfortunately Wilson got the bad injury, but a Nathan-Rodrigues CB pairing would have been a nightmare I think. We made the right call in trading him.

No, They were pushing for a game winning goal and unloaded the bench and used him for an extra set piece guy. We've done it before, and everyone else in the world has if you need a goal throw everything up top.

Hell we pushed John Doyle up top for us in 2000 multiple times.

Nathan was quite good in the air and better at moving bodies around in the penalty area than any player we currently have, so I think perhaps that's what Seattle was looking for if they threw him in at striker late in a game.

Sadly, I heard Brian Schmetzer does not like him so his time is limited, if he gets any.

Understandably. Coaches tend to like defenders who you know....defend well. Quakes tend to get defenders who look good with the ball at time, but have flaws...like not defending well.
