Wait a minute didn't we just play these guys on Sunday? Anyway, after a poor performance but a nice result (draw) we are back at White Hart Lane for the Man U. Yeah, Ronaldo is in great form... did you guys see that free kick last night it was sick! We hung with them at their place on Sunday for a half so I think we can do it this time for two. Hopefully Hutton will be available and we saw how huge woodgate was for us. So F It, I'm saying we win 4-3 cause you know there are always goals to be scored when we play at home.

If the rumors of Chimbo at villa are true then I'll expect him gone so

Hutton Woodgate King??? Gunter (anyone who can even barely mark Ronaldo)
    Lennon Jenas Steed O'hara
    Keane Berbs

    Bale?

Hutton is supposed to be in the squad for this one:

    Cerny
    Hutton Woodgate King Lee/O'Hara
    Lennon Jenas Tainio Steed
    Keane Berba

O'Hara did a good job on CRonaldo last week. Maybe play him back there again, making sure that Steed tracks back for support?

Tough match, given United's form. That's a dramatically improved back line for Tottenham, though. Maybe nick a point from this? I'd be content with that.

We always play well at OT but always get overrun at WHL. For me, draw would be a good result.

I thought Lee did a good job of defending Ronaldo in the last game against them last season.

I heard Woodgate would be suspended for this game unfortunately, 5 yellow cards. Ledley may or may not be fit, rumour was he was out for a couple of weeks.

If Chimbonda is still here could see him in the centre with Dawson, Hutton right back and Lee on the left. Not ideal but a bit better than our back 4 in the cup game.

May be three in the back for us with Huddlestone maybe dropping back as a defending mid? 3-1-4-2, maybe?

Woodgate is available for this game - the suspension for yellow card accumulation takes place for the first game that occurs seven days after the last yellow was received.

    I'm going to say 2-2 - a very hard-fought and deserved draw.

Is it a sure thing that Woodgate will face a suspension at all? I thought that the 5 yellow card thing starts over after the 1/2 way point of the season.

Also, I wonder if Gilberto will be in the lineup. That will be a good early test for him to mark Ronaldo.

Ramos: Welcome to Tottenham, on your debut you must try to contain the best player in the league.

Gilberto: No problem gaffer, after all, I'm Brazilian.

Ramos: But you are a Brazilian defender....

Gilberto: Point taken, can I just hack him?

Ramos: I guess, just don't get sent off, I don't want to put any more midfielders in the back than I have to.

    Gilberto: Sure thing.
    ---------------

I realize it's not funny, but it's what popped into my head when I thought about their first conversation.

    Be gentle.

After O'Hara's last performance against CR, I would be tempted to start him again.

They are unstoppable in the league. Since we're at home, we'll go at them and they will get goals on the counter in the second half. 2-0 loss. Since Clattenburg is the referee, expect one of those to not really have crossed the line but he'll give anyway.

Seems a big ask to put all the new boys in for a big match like this..? I'd expect to see some of them subbed in instead. Tainio's a good choice in midfield. I believe Dawsons's available - just a 1-match ban for a straight red that's not violent. But whether he is mentally up for it after Old Trafford is a question. I don't expect to see Ledley :(. So Woodgate-Hudd then.

If Dawson's red is only 1 game I'd rather put him with woodgate. Again, I think Dawson needs someone who will tell him what to do and then he does well. Woodgate has proven he can provide that so if he is available I'd rather put him in than hudds.

I'm with you. I really could do without Hudds in central defense. Great distribution of the ball, but he just gets burned way too easily in an area where he's possibly the last line of defense. Keep him in the middle. Daws should be fine if he's got someone like King or Woodgate to take charge of things.

    3 ifs.

    If King starts.
    If Woodgate starts.
If Gilberto starts (and is everything he's supposed to be)

    We win this game.

I'm really looking forward to this game now that Ramos has fortified our defense. It's a big test for us right outta the gate. And believe me, I'm just as tired as you guys are to face Man Utd. Especially when they win every meeting.

    -----------------------Cerny-------------------------

    ----Hutton----King----Woodgate----Gilberto----

    ----Lennon----Jenas----Tainio----Malbranque----

    ---------------Keane------Berbatov------------

Looks pretty good to me. COYS! :)

Sadly youre probably right. I don't think we'll be able to prevent at least a couple goals without King in the lineup. I'm hoping he is fit and we don't have to put Dawson in in CB after his debacle last week at OT. Gotta be optmisitc though.

We have nothing to play for in the league atm, I say we play all our new guys in the starting XI. It couldnt hurt really.

We've still got to try and get as many points as possible and try to get into the top half.

    Do my eyes deceive me?!

This is like the strongest team we have placed on the park for ages. It's a masterstroke of signatories and a strong team. I think that if a win here would basically promote a great belief in the team that we have come to contend "the big four" clubs. A win will install that. Surely this shows that Ramos is a great planner. I am more excited about this game than FA cup game against the same club just days ago.
