Say what you will about Jorginho, but I love his skip when he takes a penalty. Throws so many people off.
-Ref was awful tonight. -Emerson a welcome change, though sometimes lazy. -"CHELSEA CRISIS" -Luiz and Rudiger stepped up. -Giroud must be the worst World Cup winning striker I've ever seen. -Hazard great when he wanted to be. -Higuain was into it. -First cup final for Sarri. -It's against City, though.
i mean, spurs don't even get a shot at it, so that makes me happy. i agree with some of the points here, ref was awful. would have had some real complaints had Dier not blown it over the top and Kepa make a great save of Moura's PK. well done to him. nice to know we basically had two shots to get it done there at the end. Emerson deserves more game time for sure. was just slightly off the pace at times, but overall was really a breath of fresh air on that side.
Sarri says Emerson needs to improve physicality but he has been improving. That tackle on Hazard from behind was clear as day foul. VAR didn't even catch it. A joke.
i've had a chance to rewatch it s few times now. WAGNH has a post on it with a GIF loop. holy hell, clear as day, and if VAR can't catch that, then what is it good for? wasn't a PK, contact and ball were just outside the box. but free kick in a dangerous area, at least yellow card, it was certainly a clear goal scoring opportunity, but not sure how close vertongen was to cover.
Gonzalo Higuain - Only been in England for a day and already reached more cup finals than Harry Kane.
I was there (only a young'un obviously!), we sold out our half of Wembley we were DESPERATE for a sniff of success back then . Much better yesterday than the god-awful performance against Arsenal.
It was a foul. But I read elsewhere that it wasn't reviewable by VAR. The whole thing doesn't seem in order.
VAR is used for pens not run of the mill fouls. Regardless, Atkinson was pathetic. No way in hell that isn't a clear foul. It's a chickenshit decision.
Dier could have been sent off within 20 minutes. And of course, we get all the yellows, including Sarri.
that's interesting, cause i'd heard (like on twitter, not reliable at all) that it was reviewed and not overruled. either way....ugh....that game was shaping up to be an almost Ovrebo level of mess. thankfully it never actually go that far, and there weren't like blatant missed penalty calls or anything, but i was almost expecting it to happen.
