You're righ. I forgot. 17,883,841 (1996-2002) http://www.kenn.com/soccer/mls/basic.html 421,496 (2003 as of 5/22) Total regular season attendance: 18,305,337
Absolutely everything you want is in the archives at mlsnet.com Most attendance discussions involving only MLS take place in the MLS N&A forum, not the B&M forum.

And an analysis of same at http://www.kenn.com/soccer/mls/playoffs.html I can't believe you can find my site and can't navigate around it.
Re: Re: Total MLS attendance to date Add playoff attendance of 1,667,872 and total MLS attendance to date is 19,973,209 P.S. Some of you guys could have saved BS some bandwidth costs by posting the number instead of the useless comments. I did know about the MLS's playoff stats but did not want to add them up one by one. I just had a feeling that total MLS attendance to date should be close to 20,000,000 and wanted to quickly verify that. Of course, I was right. This weekend MLS will pass the 20,000,000th ticket mark.
Andy, always asks for feedback on the last page, so here it is: if you want ECG to be taken seriously, act in a professional manner. I like the publication (I really liked the Hunt article) but am repeatedly disappointed in Andy's posts on these forums. Same for other contributors (ie. Lastort)
Except for the contraction issue, Lastort only offers up photography. I definitely appreciate the feedback. Lamar Hunt was a very easy interview. I guess there's a whole yin and yang thing. Do I have to "act professional" on BigSoccer to make a living at the Emerald City Gazette, or should I wait until the ECG makes money to "act professional" on BigSoccer? The only real change for me here, though, is that I gave up moderating. I found out I was pissing off too many potential subscribers. I'd much rather piss them off (no offense meant) by my posting style than my moderating. In other words, I'd rather have them dislike me, for me - not for the job I had to do (how's it going Brian?) The Emerald City Gazette exists in a twilight. It's not really a "fanzine", nor is it "professional" journalism. Nobody but the toner company and the USPS is getting paid. It's basically as professional as a bunch of fans can be. And I'm happy with that. The various contributors around here (some using their real names, some not) will tell you that I urge them to write with their loyalties in tact. ECG is not AP-style. I want the facts checked, but opinions, and analysis should be colored by the loyalties of the writer - not the editor. Likewise, I free myself to be passionate about the game, too. If I rough up a few newbies on BigSoccer, then so be it. Just as the ECG doesn't caption photos, or explain many references, I show the same disdain for misapplied information here. The challenge with soccer 'zines (and many other 'zines) that appealed to me was the fact that they took a lot of effort to understand. You have to struggle to understand the background. It's not the 6th grade education level that most newspapers are written at. Most folks don't like 'zines because they're too much work. You got jumped here because you use the screen name "MLS_stats", but you weren't aware of where to find MLS's own stats. I called you out on it in much the same way that I expect my readers to deal with the lack of background info. "Get it your own damn self." And I definitely make mistakes here, and folks are more than happy to rough me up. It happens, I really don't hold any grudges. When I was a mod I got Segroves red carded, then immediately asked him to write something for the ECG. No harm, no foul. If you like and enjoy the ECG, then subscribe. If you don't then don't. It's certainly not for everyone, nor is it meant to be. And don't get too caught up by attacks here on BigSoccer. Everyone - even folks with 8,000 posts - gets hazed and abused from time to time.
How the hell did *I* get dragged into this one? Dude, MLS stats are all over the place. Just go to mlsnet.com and look.
*stands up and applauds* If I'm smart enough to learn how to use Google to disprove people within three minutes, people deserve to be berated for stupid stuff.
Uh, I was not a subscriber to the ECG but after reading Andy's responses in this thread, my check is in the mail.
