Even though we have two Moroccan clubs that have won the last continental competitions (Champions League and Confederation Cup), Al Ahly SC is far from the rest based on their overall recent performance in all competitions. For the following year, Wydad is coming fast from behind.

A surprise in the ranking is Simba SC from Tanzania, which is the 14th right now with 582pts. They managed to reach the CAF Champions League quarterfinals twice and the Confederation Cup quarterfinals once. Also, by winning 4 of the last 5 national leagues, they are placed on the top part of the African ranking for 2022.
