    from soccernet.com:
WARSAW, Oct 18 (Reuters) - Poland coach Zbigniew Boniek said on Friday he will resign if his team fails to win or come second in their qualifying group for Euro 2004.

I wonder who would replace him then.
With the way things are going, chances are that Poland won't come first or second in qualifying.
Ugh, everything would fall apart even more.

    Rochester NY, but or
Nice call by Boniek, however if that does happen football in Poland will take a huge setback and almost die like in mid 90's where Polish stadiums will be empty and clubs will be in bankrupcy, with some famous clubs not affording players and falling to 2nd and maybe even 3rd divison.

In 2000 I remember, we just fell short. I was at the Poland/England game in Warsaw (best game of my life) but soon after i bought MegaSport (popular polish sports magazine) and on the cover it said "Poland in 2004 to content". It had huge story inside with any sucess for World cup will be extra but making it into Euro Cup and contending for final 4 will be the teams goal.

Yes that article was a while back, but after we made the world cup it all looked like we might actually even make the final 4 in Euro Cup, if not get farther. Then 2 bad games, Engel fired and everything we worked for since 1997 when Wojcik became head coach of Poland out and all over. Personally, my message to Boniek would be make Euro Cup or Quit, finishing 2nd but losing in a playoff is not good enough.

Every night, i pray for a miricle to happen. For Boniek to quit Poland and Engel come back. Engel made 1 mistake, but he got 3 points in the world cup, and he lost to the hosts who beat everybody and lost to Portugal in a rain storm. Boniek will either make everyone happy once again, or kill the sport in Poland. I pray he will do good but i am afriad that he wont becasue i'v nothing nothing good so far.
