the americans are off to a great start in mls. i'm sure there will be many arguments attempting to say why this is insignificant, but has there ever been a time when the entire top eleven scoring chart has been american! this is great for the future of soccer in america! Preki Twellman Cunningham Mathis McBride Beasley Kreis Kamler Donovan Ching Razov Congratulations to all of you

My one quibble is that both Cunningham and Preki developed a fair amount of their soccer ability overseas before immigrating to the U.S. Cunningham moved to America from Jamaica when he was 14 and became a U.S. citizen only a few years ago. Preki was born and raised in Yugoslavia and played professionally there until moving to the States at the age of 22.
On the flip side, the leading foreigners with 3 goals & 6 points are Ruiz & Simutenkov. Next with 2 goals & 5 points are El Diablo (green card yet?) and rookie Damani Ralph.
Which would be more significant if he was 28 or 29. But it's been 17 years since. How many BigSoccer posters were born when Preki moved to the US?
Carlos Ruiz was the same age as Preki when he came here to play soccer and I doubt the U.S. can take much credit for Ruiz' development as a player. I expect the same holds for Preki.
Well, yeah. Shoot I was playing soccer before Preki was born. The youngster. True, but Ruiz is in his second season in the US while Preki has played here for 18 years. Can't we get at least partial credit?
I am sure that Preki has gotten laid more in the US then in Europe. That has to count for something!!!
