I am very surprised that MLS does not target more players from countries that have provided quality players over the years -namely...

    Top Countries........

El Salvador - (5) Cienfugos, Diaz Arce, Cerritos, Zarco Rodriguez, Quinitallia

Colombia - (14) Valderama, Pareja, L. Alvarez, Serna, Deavilla, Valencia, Comas, JW Perez,

Bolivia - (7) Etcheverry, Moreno, Vaca, Ramos

New Zealand - (3) Nelson, Elliot, Oughton

Italy - (4) Donadoni, Zenga, Galderesi, Caricola

Scotland - (3) Johnson, Spencer, Gough

Guatamala - (4) Ruiz, Rodas, Machon, Garcia

Players from countires with chances with limited success, namely:

Canada - (12 players) limited success from most, with Bent, DeRosario, Titus and even Yallop showing well

Trinidad - (12 players) limited success other than Stern John

Africa (continent) - Not many other than Diallo, Okaroh, Okafor, Digital Takawira, Joe Addo

Mexico (11) other than perhaps David Patino who helped Colorado in their 1997 MLS CUP Run

Some of the traditional soccer countries have provided more "busts" than MLS caliber talent - Brazil (10), Argentina (other than Naveda), England (8)

    Thoughts??? Comments????

The contribution of a player is in direct relation with the reason why the player wants to play in MLS.

The best players are American players because most of them wants to play here. The same goes for foreign players, if they have the talent and they want to play in the MLS then they will succeed. It has little to do with their nationality.

I believe he's been playing for the Milwaukee Rampage in the A-League.

I kind of miss old Vitalis.

MLS has had some good Brazilian players, like Faria, Welton (he was okay at some point), and Cate. Nino da Silva played pretty good in his limited time with the Metros. He's now playing the indoor league I believe, and won player of the week a few times there. But then you got guys like Branco and Gilmar that always got red carded.

I hardly think that Comas belongs on that list.
