    College preseason Top 48 Rankings

UCSB & Indiana too low in my opinion. UCI is too high. Excited to see if Maryland can live up to the hype. I guess we'll find out on Friday, because just like stock in Man United....IT IS GOING DOWN!

Wow, must say they really missed the boat on this one. Way too many Big East teams ranked... Notre Dame coming off a subpar season and both Marquette and Rutgers being over-valued. Drinking too much of the MAC and C-USA Kool-Aid as well with 3 and 4 teams respectively. Ivy League and Big Ten only get 1 apiece?

I'll bet the Big Ten (IU, NW, MSU) gets at least 3 in and the Ivy League (Brown + 1) gets at least 2 in. Also pretty confident the MAC (Akron...) and C-USA (SMU + 1) get no more than 2 a piece into the Tournament.

Early predictions, but that's what this is about.

Gotta remember that this is not a "Top 48" as in "48 Best Teams ranked 1-48". This is a best guess as to who is going to make the field of 48 for the NCAA tournament. Thus, teams like Wake in the ACC with 3 better teams (UNC, Duke, MD) will have a more difficult time getting in even though they may be one of the top 48 teams. Look at a school like Washington from last year. Definitely one of the top 48 teams in the country but no chance at getting in with UCLA in the Pac 12 taking up the automatic qualifier spot.
