this is legit the most pathetic performance I've ever seen from a Napoli team. The blame is on Gattuso. This was Napolis best team. Competition was weak and we still managed to not finish top 4.
you cannot always get service. good strikers can do more things than just run deep and do it wrongly as well. He shouldve been on his heels to receive the excellent passes both ruiz, insigne and mertens were feeding in because there was no space in behind, but no, he was on his heels doing nothing. that is what I observed at least. running is not enough
Insigne gave the ball away at least 7 or 8 times. He only had 1 good pass over the top to Lozano. He was also dispossessed easily about 3 or 4 other times. He saved his worst for last. Not what you would expect from your Capitano.

What does this serve? Rahmani was more to blame for not closing down a player that came infield when they are 2v1. It's unlucky, but at the same time what we deserve.
I think ruiz, manolas, meret and politano did well whereas insigne, bakayoko, rui, lozano, rahmani, hysaj and mertens were meh zielinski, osimhen and di lorenzo had a bad game but i dont want to be too harsh, gattuso set the team up incorrectly on the day.

His passing was some of the worst I've seen all season. Even the commentators were asking who he was targeting on many of them. Nobody is saying he's not one of the best players on the squad, but today he was needed the most, and was brutal. This is not uncommon with him, and thus his mental toughness needs to be questioned again.
I agree but we didn't pay 80 million for a striker not to do anything but run in behind, its especially the part where he is on his heels that is draining my patience. either way Its gattuso's fault. There is no way Insigne gets subbed off given how important he is to the team, but how did oshimhen get 90 mins today? Him not getting subbed off also meant we had to take zielinski, one of our best players normally, off. I don't think Osimhen cant amount to anything, im just of the opinion that right now he isn't good enough to play all the time regardless of form. Maybe a new coach will do him well
No I didn't want Insigne subbed off. Just wanted a performance to match his quality. Yet again, I had to see him play his worst when needed most.
