I'm thinking in made a list for the top-10 peruvian clubs by decade covering the whole peruvian football history.

Which clubs would made the list in each decade?

    I'll following these steps:
    * I'm calculate average performances for each club (sum of all points, divided by sum of max.points)
    * All teams who participated in all 10 years in a certain decade, makes the list.
    * The remaining places to complete the top-10, will be cover with the best clubs who participated, at least 5 years.

Since 1966 (first Descentralizado) it easy and fair to made a national overview.

Before 1966, will be taken 7 teams listed in the RSSSF tables, because only teams from Lima had been participated.
The remained 3 teams will be the best provincial teams, according historical references (articles, reports, regional championships, etc.)

    The 2000s top-10:
    1. Cienciano
    2. Cristal
    3. Universitario
    4. Alianza Lima
    5. San Martín
    6. Alianza Atlético
    7. Melgar
    8. Bolognesi
    9. Sport Boys
    10. Juan Aurich

From #1 to 4 is very close, so i take into account aditional info (intl. tournaments, peak, etc.)

For the #1, I get the edge to Cienciano due to his Sudamericana & Recopa titles.
In this group, Cristal was the most consistent at local level. Universitario had the best 2000's performance (2000 season) of all clubs. And, Alianza had most local titles in the decade.

In the next group, A.Atletico and Melgar were the other consistent clubs, don't missing a single season. Close to them, San Martín with 6 years in First Division and two titles, obviously they had the best peak in this group.

For the last group, i get the #8 to Bolognesi, with eight seasons and qualifications to intl. tournaments. The last two spots are closely fought by three clubs. For #9, i pick Sport Boys missing only 1 season in the decade. And for #10, i chose Juan Aurich, because they had the best peak in this group (2009 season) but only 5 seasons, the same seasons as Ancash, which ended very close.

    6. Cienciano

    8. Municipal
    9. Unión Minas
    10. Alianza Atlético

For the #1, gets the edge Cristal due to its great Libertadores performances.
In the #2. Alianza Lima had the best 90's performance (1997 season) of all clubs. And, Universitario who had good teams at the beggining and the end of the decade.

In the next group, Boys in the #4 because its consistency and qualification to intl. tournaments, then, Melgar and Cienciano for their consistency in First Division. In this group, i also consider to Sipesa (next called Deportivo Pesquero) who had good first seasons until they lack financial support, they played 7 seasons and 1 Liguilla (as 2nd división winner).

For the last group there are three clubs that participated in all ten years, i give the #8 to Municipal, who won the Intermedio championship in 1993. In the last two spots, i had Unión Minas and Alianza Atlético.

    1960-1969:
In the 1966 year began the Descentralizado tournaments, and for the first time a real nacional championship was played.
This competition was based in the FPF's tournament in which traditionally take part clubs from Lima (regional) and Callao (since 1926).
For the first Descentralizado, four clubs from Provinces were invited and for next seasons the Copa Peru was used to promote provincial teams to First Division.

    6. Defensor Arica
    7. Municipal
    8. Juan Aurich
    9. Miguel Grau
    10. O.Espinoza

In the #1, Universitario had the highest local peak (1964 year) and best performance in Libertadores Cup (67), then Alianza Lima in #2 with the second best prime, very close follow for Cristal in #3.

Sport Boys in #4 with two vice-championships and a consistent performance. Then, comes Defensor Lima in #5, with consistent campaigns and a good team "The Carasucias from Breña", Defensor Arica gets the #6 for his vice-championship in 1969, then comes, Municipal with nine years in First Division. For a few points get out Centro Iqueño.

Since provincial clubs only played week-in week-out, at most, 4 years with clubs from Lima, it can't be accurately compared to them for positional ranking.

The best three provincial clubs were: Aurich has the best peak with a vice-championship and a good Libertadores performance, then Miguel Grau (also named Atlético Grau) as the only provincial team who wasn't relegated in the 60s, they also were the base for the Piura-XI who won the National Amateur championship in 1960. The third best provincial team was Espinoza which didn't missing any season in Descentralizado.

Very close to them i rated the likes of Melgar, Cienciano and Manucci.

For the 1958 National Champ. edition, it was also considered Atlético Torino.

A honorable mention gets Municipal, with a First Group average performance in their 3 seasons in the 30s (they win promotion in 1935 but the tournament wasn't played due to OG'36 peruvian participation)

In this decade there were also great provincial teams (who beat the first group limeños teams). The best sides were:
    * Diablos Rojos-Chiclín since his first match vs Universitario in 1933 (lost 0-1) they remained unbeaten against top limeños sides (including a win 5-0 over Golden's Sport Boys). Some stars were Juan Honores, José Soriano, and others who were capped by NT.
    * Alianza Atlético, they represented Sullana in 1936, winning the National Championship over Lima XI (in fact the NT), due to this the Sullana stadium is called "Campeones del 36". They were called to Pre-selection, but were left out for Panamericanos tournament.
    * Aurora from Arequipa, in the early 30s they also remained unbeaten vs top limeños sides, also they were required by President Leguia to come to Lima to face Olimpia whom beat all Limeños sides in a tour. They also had a succesfull touring in Mexico, Centroamerica, Chile & Bolivia. Some of them were called to Pre-selection for CA'1935 but were left out.

After them, comes Pierola, Grau & Melgar
