Tools need to start a knock-off jersey operation

I can't believe I'm responding to this, but I think some of the jerseys sold on eBay are actually stolen from the manfacturer. So, while they may be knock offs, some are actually "legit".

If you don't see where this is copyright infringement, then you might want to read the federal copyright codes and talk to some people arrested for selling unlicensed merchandice. Also, how is a legit company stealing a design from another legit company? There are agreements allowing suppliers to produce the shirts complete with badges and sponsors. Nike, Adidas, etc don't just decide they are making Man Utd's or Bayern Munchen's shirt and put it out on the market.

Part of the issue, I think, is that many asian countries do not respect the copyright laws of the US and Europe. That's why they seem to be the major source. The law either doesn't exist there or the local governments ignore it.

 

To do this, you'll also need a complete absence of your soul and morals. Why don't you just go rob a bank...it's basically the same thing.

Because labor costs in Southeast Asia are much lower than anywhere else in the world.

Ever wonder why some Mexicans really, really hate us? It isn't because of soccer. It's because all of those NAFTA jobs that used to go to Mexico are now going to China, India, and Russia.

I am told by my brother (grain of salt, he being a Limbaugh-ite) that it is cheaper for a North Carolina furniture outfit to cut and finish parts here, put them on a boat all the way to China for assembly, and re-import the finished work rather than keep it in-house.

The SEAsians have great mass-production capabilities, but sell these freaking things in one size. Grrr.

 

You realize how easy it is for the FBI to catch you? This is what happens if you try to sell a knock-off jersey on eBay from the US:
1. You put a fake Real Madrid jersey up for auction on eBay
2. 2 hours later, FBI's anti-counterfeiting taskforce finds it, sees that the seller is within its jurisdictioin, makes a bid.
3. The auction ends, jersey arrives at FBI field office, FBI verifies your Real jersey's inauthenticity, files it as evidence.
4. FBI finds your address, either through the return address on your envelope or your eBay/PayPal accounts, raids your warehouse and confiscates your tools of trade. And your money. So yeah, pretty much more than enough evidence to convict you and lock you away in federal pen.

In any case, good luck. But if you plan to continue with this venture, I suggest you invest in some soap-on-a-rope.

 

ha, funny i find this topic now as i just finished opening my Man Utd Tim Howard jersey from Thailand.....for 20 bucks you cant go wrong...loooks awesome
